MeasureWare Data Walkthrough:Global Memory Graph• GBL_MEM_PAGE_REQUEST_RATE• The number of page requests to or from the disk persecond during the interval. This is the same as the sum ofthe "page ins" and "page outs“ values from the "vmstat -s"command. Remember that "vmstat -s“ reports cumulativecounts.• Higher than normal rates can indicate either a memory ora disk bottleneck. Compare GBL_DISK_UTIL_PEAK andGBL_MEM_UTIL to determine which resource is moreconstrained. High rates may also indicate memorythrashing caused by a particular application or set ofapplications. Look for processes with high major faultrates to identify the culprits.March 2004 Copyright © 2004 HP corporate presentation. All rights reserved. 58
