Women’s <strong>College</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> is committed topatient safety as a key professional value and an essential component of daily practice.An exciting Permanent Full-Time opportunity as a Financial Administrator exists in the Department of Familyand Community Medicine, which includes an Academic Family Health Team, reporting to the Chief of theDepartment of Family and Community Medicine at Women’s <strong>College</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>Summary of Duties, (but not limited to):Maintaining appropriate Records and Data for the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM)at Women’s <strong>College</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> (WCH)Recording all transactions between DFCM, WCH, University of Toronto, Ministry of Health and Long TermCare and all other third parties as appropriate. Responsible for computing, classifying, recording andverifying all data related to above and managing all data in maintaining accounting records for the aboveduties.Working with the Chief of the Department of Family & Community Medicine and/or their delegates toensure continuous Quality Improvements in the financial & accounting processes of DFCM.Working with members of DFCM to ensure appropriate and timely data is provided to DFCM to perform allnecessary recording and reporting activities in a timely fashion.Working with appropriate individuals to ensure appropriate DFCM Internal audit activity occurs in a timelyfashion.Taking initiative, as appropriate, to develop structures necessary for effective completion of above duties.The responsibilities described above are representative and are not to be construed as all-inclusive.Task Descriptions:Managing all aspects of the Dept. of Family & Community Medicine’s Financial officeEntering financial transactions on behalf of DFCMPreparing Spreadsheets for internal accounting purposesDeveloping necessary data capture tools as appropriateRecording necessary data and information from WCH, University of Toronto, MOHLTC, and other thirdparties as appropriate.Updating necessary information for effective functioning of the office.Federal government reporting compliance – HST & Payroll deductionsQualifications/Skills:A Canadian accounting designation in progress or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience.Experience and familiarity of working with Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) is essential.Experience and knowledge of working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) billing functions is essential.
