ROTARY LIMIT SWITCHESROTARY GEAR LIMIT SWITCHES - GENERAL OPERATIONN3The rotary limit switch is used to control themovement of industrial machinery. It operatesas an auxiliary controller of electrical motorsthrough a power interface, such as a contactoror PLC. Suitable for heavy duty, its shaft isconnected to the motor and, after a set numberof revolutions, the cams operate the switches,thus starting the predetermined movement.Revolution ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:450results from the use of different combinationsof gear wheels between the input shaft and theoutput shaft, which is connected to the camsoperating the micro-switches. The cam-switchsets can be substituted for potentiometersand/or encoders suitable for the connection ofelectronic equipment.Each cam can be set with great accuracyusing the cam adjusting screws. The microswitchesare of a positive opening type, thussuitable for safety functions. It is available withdirect control switches for operating directly onthe motor.
