Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy Microscopy [FLIM]

A schematic of the polarization-resolved imager (PRI) used to acquire two orthogonal polarizationcomponent images simultaneously. It is placed directly in front of the gated optical image intensifier (GOI)using a C-mount adapter. 3 The key component is a polarizing beamsplitter, and adjustable mirrors are used toalign the half-images. Simultaneous acquisition is less vulnerable to artefacts than sequential acquisition ofthe two images at orthogonal polarization.
