He reports<strong>to</strong> Assistant General Manager/Player Personnel, Tom Thompson and oversees all aspects ofthe club’s professional scouting.Mackasey, 52 (12/13/55), joined the <strong>Wild</strong> from Hockey Canada, w<strong>here</strong> he was named Head Scoutin June of 2002 and was later named Direc<strong>to</strong>r of Player Personnel in July of 2005. While withHockey Canada, he was responsible for all player evaluation and player selections for Canada’sNational Junior Team Development and Selection Camps as well as Canada’s Men’s Under-18Program. Mackasey also assisted Wayne Gretzky and Canada’s management and coaching staff in player evaluations for Canada’s 2006Men’s Olympic Hockey Team. During his four seasons with Hockey Canada, he won back-<strong>to</strong>-back World Junior gold medals (2005 and 2006)and two silver medals (2003 and 2004), overseeing player selection and operations of Canada’s National Junior Team at the IIHF World JuniorChampionship. Mackasey also won two gold medals with Canada’s National Under-18 Summer Team at the Junior World Cup (2005, 2004), asilver medal with Canada’s National Under-18 Team at the World Championship in April of 2005 and a gold medal in 2003.Prior <strong>to</strong> joining Hockey Canada, he was a member of the Phoenix Coyotes’ scouting staff for six seasons (1996-2002). Mackasey spent threeseasons as a Head Coach in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Granby Bisons (1993-94) and the Drummondville Voltigeurs(1994-96). He also played minor league baseball in the Montreal Expos organization with the likes of Ellis Valentine and Gary Carter.Mackasey and his wife, Debbie, have four children, Andrea, Blair Jr., Erin and Dave. The family resides in Beaconsfield, Quebec.Chris SnowDIRECTOR OF HOCKEY OPERATIONSChris Snow is in his third season as Direc<strong>to</strong>r of Hockey Operations for the <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Wild</strong> afterbeing named <strong>to</strong> the position on June 14, 2006. He is responsible for many of the day-<strong>to</strong>-day dutiesof the hockey operations department, including developing and executing strategic planning,analyzing rosters and salary commitments of other NHL teams, performing player contract andarbitration research and supporting team staff in scouting operations, training camps and teamtravel. Snow also assists the club with data analysis of hockey at the amateur and professionallevel and works with wild.com <strong>to</strong> provide insight in<strong>to</strong> player personnel and team information.Snow, 27 (8/11/81), most recently was a staff writer for the Bos<strong>to</strong>n Globe, w<strong>here</strong> he served asBos<strong>to</strong>n Red Sox beat writer. Prior <strong>to</strong> that, he covered the <strong>Wild</strong>’s 2003-04 season for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He oversees all ofthe club’s equipment needs along with running the team’s home dressing room at Xcel Energy Center. Prior <strong>to</strong>joining the <strong>Wild</strong>, the Winnipeg, Mani<strong>to</strong>ba, native was a part of the Winnipeg/Phoenix Coyotes organization formore than 19 years.He started working for the Winnipeg Jets as a dressing room attendant and equipment manager for NHL teamsvisiting the Winnipeg Arena. He was promoted <strong>to</strong> Assistant Equipment Manager for the 1988-89 season. During that time, DaCosta gainedinvaluable knowledge and experience that helped him in his role as one of the Coyotes equipment managers, a position he held when theJets moved <strong>to</strong> Phoenix in 1996. He also served as Equipment Manager for the NHL All-Star Games in 1998 (Vancouver) and 2004 (Saint Paul)and held the same position with Team Canada during the 2001 World Championships in Germany.He and his wife, June, have two daughters, Summer and Rylee. DaCosta enjoys golfing, mo<strong>to</strong>rcycles and working out in his free time.Brent ProulxASSISTANT EQUIPMENT MANAGERBrent Proulx is in his eighth year as Assistant Equipment Manager with the <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Wild</strong>. His responsibilitiesinclude assisting the <strong>Wild</strong>’s equipment needs both at home and on the road, as well as locker room set-up andequipment repair.Proulx, 33 (10/26/74), spent eight seasons (1993-00) as Clubhouse Manager/Equipment Manager for the SaintPaul Saints baseball club of the independent Northern League prior <strong>to</strong> joining the <strong>Wild</strong>. He also served as Assistant Equipment Manager forthe <strong>Minnesota</strong> Moose of the International Hockey League (IHL) for two seasons (1994-96).Proulx has been named <strong>to</strong> the USA Hockey 2009 national team that will play in Ottawa for the IIHF World Junior (U-20) Championship, Dec26, 2008-January 5, 2009. He has also worked as an Equipment Manager for USA Hockey at international <strong>to</strong>urnaments the past five summers,including the 2007 Under-17 Select Team that won a silver medal at the Five Nations Tournament in Prague, Czech Republic; the 2006Under-18 Select Team that won a silver medal at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament in Breclav, Czech Republic; the 2005 Under-17Select Team, the 2004 Under-18 Select Team and the 2003 Under-17 Select Team that won a gold medal at the Five Nations Tournamentin Slovakia.A native of Saint Paul, Proulx attended Hill-Murray School in Maplewood. He graduated from the University of <strong>Minnesota</strong> in 1999 with adegree in business administration. Proulx and his wife, Jamie, reside in Saint Paul.Matt BenzASSISTANT EQUIPMENT MANAGERMatt Benz begins his eighth season with the <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Wild</strong> and seventh as Assistant Equipment Manager. Hisresponsibilities include assisting <strong>Minnesota</strong>’s equipment needs at home, handling equipment transportation<strong>to</strong> and from the airport for both the <strong>Wild</strong> and visiting team and taking care of the club’s equipment needs forsummer prospects camps and the Traverse City rookie <strong>to</strong>urnament.Benz, 36 (9/1/72), joined the <strong>Wild</strong> as a game night dressing room attendant in 2000-01 following a career inSales and Marketing. The Saint Paul native attended Hill-Murray School in Maplewood and graduated from the University of St. Thomas. Heand his wife, Emily, have two daughters, Elena and Lily.Benz enjoys golfing and spending time with his family when he is not at the rink.Training TeamDon FullerHEAD ATHLETIC THERAPISTDon Fuller enters his ninth season as Head Athletic Therapist for the <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Wild</strong>. He is responsible for the assessment andrehabilitation of all injuries, coordination of the <strong>Wild</strong> medical staff and administration of all therapy/medical procedures.Fuller, 42 (7/14/66), is a Certified Athletic Therapist in the Canadian Athletic Therapists’ Association, a Certified AthleticTrainer in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and a nationally certified Emergency Medical Technician. He also isa member of the <strong>Minnesota</strong> Athletic Trainers’ Association, Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers’ Society and the NationalRegistry of Emergency Medical Technicians.The London, Ontario native served as a member of the Canadian National Men’s Team at the 2006 World Hockey Championships in Latvia, the 2002World Hockey Championships in Sweden and the 2000 <strong>to</strong>urnament held in Russia. Fuller was also the host therapist for the World Cup of Hockey playedin Saint Paul in September 2004. He has also held the position of Head Athletic Therapist for Canada’s National Men’s hockey team in 1999-2000. Prior<strong>to</strong> that, Fuller was the Head Athletic Therapist for the University of Vic<strong>to</strong>ria from 1994 <strong>to</strong> 1999. He also worked as a therapist for the Canadian medicalteam at the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Don was the Athletic Therapist for the Vic<strong>to</strong>ria Salsa of the BCJHL in 1998 and for the Universityof Toron<strong>to</strong> Varsity Blues men’s hockey team in 1990-91.Fuller received a Bachelor of Physical Education degree from McMaster University in 1989, a diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan Collegein 1991 and spent three years studying at the Canadian College of Osteopathy (1997-99, 2004-05).He and his wife, Tina, have a daughter, Anna. The family resides in Woodbury, Minn. and enjoys spending time at their cabin in Duluth. Fuller enjoysfishing, hunting and playing hockey and serves as the assistant direc<strong>to</strong>r for the Cadillac Water Ski School in Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia duringthe off-season.Travis GreenASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINERTravis Green is entering his first year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Wild</strong>. His responsibilities includeassisting with player rehabilitation and the day-<strong>to</strong>-day medical needs of the <strong>Wild</strong> players. Previously, Green served asthe team’s massage therapist, a position he <strong>to</strong>ok during the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He also assisted as an athletictrainer continuing injured players’ rehabilitation during <strong>Wild</strong> road games.Green, 33 (3/28/75), is a native <strong>Minnesota</strong>n and 1997 graduate of Bethel University with a B.A. in Athletic Training aswell as a double minor in Health and Physical Education. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National AthleticTrainers Association and is registered with the <strong>Minnesota</strong> Board of Medical Practice. In 2005, Green completed his therapeutic bodywork/massagetherapy from CenterPoint Massage School in Minneapolis and received distinction as RKC (Russian Kettlebell Certified). In 2006, he became a Level IIspecialist. For more than 10 years, Green was a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.Green has served in many different capacities including athletic trainer for Douglas County Hospital, strength & conditioning direc<strong>to</strong>r for ISD 206,independent contrac<strong>to</strong>r/personal trainer, massage therapist for various institutions in the Twin Cities area, and business owner of a personal trainingstudio and fitness facility in Woodbury, Minn.Green and his wife, Julie, reside in Cottage Grove, Minn. with their two daughters, Sidney and Lauren, and son, Ryan. Green enjoys mountain biking,camping/hiking along the shores of Lake Superior and nature pho<strong>to</strong>graphy. In the offseason, he serves clients as a personal trainer and massagetherapist in the Twin Cities area.Kirk OlsonSTRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACHKirk Olson is in his sixth year as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>Wild</strong>. He is responsible for developing,implementing and executing all aspects of strength and conditioning throughout the <strong>Wild</strong> organization.Olson, 37 (7/31/71), has been coaching and training athletes for the past 14 years. Before coming <strong>to</strong> the <strong>Wild</strong>, Olsonwas training athletes in a private capacity, focusing primarily on the development of hockey players. He spent threeseasons with the NFL’s <strong>Minnesota</strong> Vikings’ Strength and Conditioning Staff before entering the private sec<strong>to</strong>r <strong>to</strong> practicehis trade. During his time with the Vikings, Olson also served as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe.
