Activati<strong>on</strong> of the surface:<br />

2 Al + 6 H 3 O + 2 Al 3+ + 6 H 2 O + 3 H 2<br />

The activati<strong>on</strong> is assisted by fluorides.<br />

passivati<strong>on</strong>.<br />

� Equal properties (corrosi<strong>on</strong> protecti<strong>on</strong>, adhesi<strong>on</strong> of paints and c<strong>on</strong>tact<br />

resistance).<br />

� The trivalent passivati<strong>on</strong> is somewhat more heat resistant.<br />

� Same pretreatment before <strong>SurTec</strong> 650 as befor Cr(VI)-c<strong>on</strong>taining<br />

passivati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

� Approved by QPL, Qualicoat and GSB.<br />

� <strong>SurTec</strong> 650 chromitAL is used by several companies and was<br />

adopted to intern normings.<br />

� In Germany, <strong>SurTec</strong> 650 is used in 50 producti<strong>on</strong> sites.
