In M.O.P College For Women, won 2 nd prize in the PAPER PRESENTATION. 3.In SDNB College For Women, won the OVERALL ROLLING TROPHY these are the events in which our students have participated and got 1 st prize in MATH QUIZ,2 nd prize in ADZAP, 2 nd prize in MATH MODEL. 4. In Kumarani Meena Muthiah College For Arts & Science, won 1 st prize in QUIZ and also won 2 nd prize in QUIZ. 5.In Stella Maris College won the OVERALL ROLLING TROPHY these are the events our students participated, got 1 st prize in MATHS QUIZ, 2 nd prize in ADZAP, 3 rdprize in COLLAGE, 3rd prize in PAPER PRESENTATION, 3 rd prize in FACE PAINTING. 6. Maria Roy Felix, Director, Loyola Astro Club, initiated the various clubactivities. On 20 th August, 2011, Dr. Suresh Mohan delivered a talk on “stars”. A session on “ All about universe “ was organized on 3 rd December,2011.Around50 students were taken to a Star gazing party to Ramancherry near Thiruvallur on 24 th September,2011, 26 th November 2011. Star gazing sessions arranged forthe students of our college in our foot ball ground. On 21th January and 11 th , 2011. A serious of guest lectures was arranged on 6 th February, 2012, marking the400 th death anniversary of Rev.Fr. Christop Calu, a Jesuit priest worked in the reformation of calendar along with Pope Gregory XIII.DEPARTMENT FESTIVALThe Mathematics Association of the Department of Mathematics, Loyola College, Chennai – 600 034 celebrated its annual Department Festival KUVIYAM’11on Saturday 17 th December, 2011. Dr. BASKAR BABUJEE of ANNA UNIVERSITY inaugurated the festival. The events conducted were Quiz, Adzap, Olympiad,Treasure Hunt, Math Fun, Rangoli, Face Painting and Paper Presentation. Thirty Arts and Science colleges in and around Chennai participated in various eventsand won prizes.All members of the staff from the Department of Mathematics judged different events and finalized the winners.
