Our website and online newsletterssent to over 3000 subscribers, arebecoming increasingly popular, evidencedby the number of ‘hits’ from visitors allover the world.Volunteer AwardsOver 200 volunteers are at the heart ofour organisation and deserve special acknowledgementfor their untiring effortsand involvement. This year a prestigious“Yakir Telfed” and “Special Merits Awards”were added to the annual “Telfed VolunteerAwards”, paying special tribute to volunteersfor their outstanding service over manyyears. The Alei Gefen Chorus entertainedthe 400 strong crowd with their beautifulmusical renditions.I would like to congratulate Dorron Klein,Director of Project Development, who hasbeen appointed to the position of DeputyDirector of Telfed.It has been a privilege to preside asChairman of Telfed during the past threeyears. What I have briefly covered here isonly a taste of the immenseachievements accomplished.I would liketo thank all who havecontributed to Telfed’sdedicated staff, led byour indomitable director,Sidney Shapiro, myVice Chairman, DaveBloom, for his boundlesssupport and behind thescenes activities and ourTreasurer Harris Greenwho has done a ‘sterling’job in safeguarding ourassets.Lastly, I pay tributeand express my deepestthanks to our volunteers,the backbone ofTelfed.
