22 Looking Forward, Looking Back - Warriewood Valley Northern Beaches Creative Leisure and Learning will join with the Coastal Environment Centre to explore the Warriewood Wetlands by boardwalk. Our walk will incorporate the new development and restoration of the Valley. Key features are the use of water sensitive design and restoration of creekline corridors. The diversity of natural vegetation will be evident as we return through swamp mahogany forest and wetlands. The area is famous for its diversity of wildlife including an abundance of birds. Participants might like to contribute to an account of the history of the wetlands and community action to ensure its survival. <strong>Seniors</strong> Drivers Workshop All drivers, passengers and pedestrians are at risk every time they use our roads, and as people get older their risk of being involved in a crash increases. The Years Ahead Workshop aims to increase awareness of safe driving practices, encourage all drivers to monitor their ability to drive, encourage older drivers to seek advice from their doctors regarding their capacity to drive and to provide information about alternative transport options. The NSW Fire Brigade will also present a talk on how to assist emergency workers in the event of an accident (eg. medic alert bracelets, next of kin information etc.). They will also cover smoke alarms and general fire safety around the home.
