2013 Young Authors Fiction FestivalPresented byThe American Library in <strong>Paris</strong>In Collaboration withThe Society <strong>of</strong> Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) France<strong>Submission</strong> Deadline: 1 April 2013SUBMISSION GUIDELINESPLEASE NOTE: WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT STORIES MEETING THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES1) WHO: All young authors, from Kindergarten/Grande Section to Grade 12/Terminale, who write inEnglish and who live in <strong>Paris</strong> and the vicinity (see page 3 Comparis2) WHAT: ONE original story per student written after September 1, 2012. All stories must: Have a clear beginning, middle, and end; Respect the following word limit, longer pieces will not be accepted:750 words for grades K-5/GS-CM21000 words for grades 6-12/college-lycée Be typed, using Times New Roman or Arial fonts, 12 point, double-spaced, with one-inch (2.5cm) margins. No handwritten work, illustrations or color print.See the sample story format (page 4) for formatting examples.3) WHEN: The deadline for story submissions is midnight 1 April 2013. No late submissions.4) WHERE: Submit your stories only by e-mail to: yaff2013@gmail.com5) HOW: Please follow these three simple steps:1) In the SUBJECT line <strong>of</strong> your email, write: Last Name, First Name, grade/class.2) In the BODY <strong>of</strong> your email, COPY and PASTE the COVER PAGE (see page 2 <strong>of</strong> theseguidelines) and fill it in. We cannot accept any stories without this information.3) ATTACH your story to the email as a WORD.doc NOT a .docx file or PDF.Use the story title ONLY as the document name.IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
