Suggests that Araki, Schornand Diederich approach their regional racersand get the names together by June. Wants theGrand Nationals to be consistent at least overa three year period to run the same classes.ProposalsMotley comments the Proposal systemdoes not get used as much as it should basedon how it is set up. Few Proposals from thefloor. Need to take a look at it to improve it.Need more input from customers. Problemcould be the time frame before decision ismade. Ineffective system today. Verlengierestates the Proposal system is for rule changesaccording to Section 101.2.6; was put in forengines. Diederich reached out to racersin 2008 and got little participation. ShareeHoegerl suggests Survey Monkey. Verlengierestates the racers want to go where thefast guys are, race the biggest classes andthe coolest event, they could care less aboutwhat the Board does. Araki agrees. Hilgerstates the communication is at the races. Diederichstates you get constructive criticism ifyou show up at the races; they are glad to seeyou at the event.Norgaard requests Section 105.8.2.1 beadded to Section 401.17.4. Clutch/ChainGuard. Engine changes in 2 Cycle Sprint/TaG:Should demonstrated damage to an engineoccur, the Technical Inspector may allowrepair or the substitution of a like engine. Theburden for demonstrating damage rests withthe competitor. If the competitor is unable todemonstrate damage, one additional engine(total of 2) MAY be approved by the TechnicalInspector. If approved, the competitorwill start the next competition session at theback of the lineup. The intent of these rulesis to repair engine damage, NOT to performmaintenance.
