His pole time of 46.317 was 3 tenthsquicker then Brenden Baker and Wyatt <strong>May</strong>. Parker killedit in the heat race walking away from a great battle for 2ndplace between Chance Skaufel, Jason Hannegan and <strong>May</strong>.The final was not much of a contest as Thompson once againled from start to finish. The skirmish for 2nd place again stolethe eyes of the spectators as it was the best action on track.Track position was key as Skaufel, Hannegan and <strong>May</strong> alllooked for openings. Maxwell Rios, Henry Fallshand, Baker,and Willy Axton were doing the same just a few feet back.After starting deep in the pack, Axton was on a mission,picking up position after position and gaining ground on themain chasers. Thompson cruised it to the finish with enoughmargin for error, not wanting a mechanical like last month’sfoil his chance at victory. Hannegan drove his behind off forbest in class honors and a second place finish. Axton ended aquality effort with a trip to the podium in 3rd.Senior PRD: The most anticipated class of the weekendwas Sr. PRD. With 29 drivers lining up for qualifying andveteran Adams racers like Mack, Matta, Carmody, and Giumarranot even hitting the top ten you know the competitionis stout. Three more long-time Adams racers topped the timecharts with an Aussie and an up and coming kid roundedout the top five. Notorious Nick Johnston dropped a 46.369bomb in qualifying with Mad Matt Johnson just missing thepole with his 46.403. Derek Zimmermann put his 15 yearsexperience to work to start the prefinal 3rd. Scott Saundersand Devin Lindsey completed the fast five. Impressively, 17drivers all were within 1 second of the pole time. The prefinalsaw a shakeup in the running order as Johnston fell to 4thand Johnson scored the win. After leading most of the laps,Zimmerman moved up a spot to finish in 2nd, while Lindseyshowed good form and finished in 3rd. Johnston, Lindseyand Kelley fell in line behind the leaders as they exitedthe “Big Monza” turn for the first time.
