So much has happened in the lastmonth is hard to know where to start.I must begin with thanking Mel and Sarah whocoordinated the recent Closed ClubChampionships. It was a great day.Competition was fierce, but friendly. We werevery lucky to have two FEI accredited judgeson the day – thank you to Pam for once againsecuring our judges. Congratulations to theChampions and Reserve Champions. At theend of competition we had a sausage sizzlefollowed by the presentation. Our thanks toRuth and Jeanette for running the canteen onthe day. As usual, people helped out withpenciling, collecting test sheets and adding up


scores – all of this behind the scenes work takestime and without it, competitions would not bepossible. Sue Sullivan came along and penciledwith Winks in the grass arena for all tests,thank you Sue.The annual awards night and Christmas partywas also a great success. My congratulationsto all those who were the final winners andrunners’-up in the point score andofficial/associate competitions. I have lookedover the results of all the Member’s Days forthis year and it good to see that each month, thescores of competitors improved, peoplebrought along young horses or began riding athigher levels (including Barney and I). That iswhat the Member’s Days are all about – so Ilook forward to seeing you all there next year.The head collars that were awarded as trophiesfor the member’s point score were a great ideaand warmly received by the recipients.The night was also special as there are anumber of perpetual trophies awarded.Congratulations to the winners of thesetrophies.Topcat Trophy for most successful junior atofficial competitions went to Taylor Gilmoreand her horse Sambics HitThe Buckley Family Trophy for the mostsuccessful junior at associate competitions wentto Mersadies Cadalbert and her wonderfulpony, Baringa Final Scene.The Cath Goodsell Trophy went to LizzieWilson-Fellows who campaigned WendyDixon’s beautiful young horse, AATCReflection R. The Cath Goodsell Trophy isawarded to the most successful member atofficial level at our Championships in July.The Kym Bramley trophy was awarded thisyear to Pam Seccombe, who epitomises thevalues that this trophy represents: courage,determination and tireless contribution to theclub and dressage.Several members of the club were awarded<strong>Dressage</strong> NSW Performance Medals. Mel andSarah will provide further details via email andwebsite in the New Year.Our first official/associate competition is on the26 th January. I am looking for someone tocoordinate this event, with support of all thecommittee and other members. If you wouldbe interested in taking on this role, pleasetelephone or email me for further details.I would encourage you all to enter official testsat our competitions. The standard of our horseand rider combinations, at senior and juniorlevel, would stand up well in open competition.We will need to have a meeting in January tobegin planning the February Competition.I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas andNew Year. Fire at White ParkThere was fire at White Park on Friday 16 th<strong>December</strong>. At this stage, the details of how the firestarted are unclear. Some of the UHDA’s arenapoles were damaged in the fire. Thankfully, thetrailer looks undamaged. Our equipment in thecanteen area is unscathed.As more details come to light, we will keep youadvised. Here is a photo of the trailer and thedamaged poles.
