Richards & Associates Limited, in association with XCG Consultant Limited, is working with<strong>Utilities</strong> <strong>Kingston</strong> to improve the Cataraqui Bay WWTP, located in the City of <strong>Kingston</strong>. AnEnvironmental Assessment is being initiated to assess the plant’s existing condition, addressthe more stringent effluent quality, accommodate for urban population growth, and recommendpreferred treatment technologies for the plant’s next expansion. Various supporting studies havebeen completed to address the environmental, social, economic and other factors influencingthe nature of the work.This study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for Schedule C projects asdescribed in the Municipal Engineers Association’s Class EA document (2000, as most recentlyamended). <strong>Consultation</strong> with the public and government review agencies is an important andnecessary component of all EA studies.Attached is the Notice of a <strong>Public</strong> Information Centre, which is an Open House to be held onJuly 12, 2012.
