Theyhave been designed with the rightbalance of speed and torque formaximum productivity in a broad rangeof soil types. The right amount of speedis necessary to efficiently move materialup the auger bit and out of the hole.Optimal torque is required to preventstalling when drilling in toughconditions.Caterpillar offers both standard and treebits for the wide array of hole drillingrequirements. A variety of bit teeth isalso available for different soilconditions.Performance and VersatilityCaterpillar Augers deliver maximumperformance and provide smooth,efficient operation when coupled to CatSkid Steer Loaders. Designed and builtto strict Caterpillar standards, they carrywith them the proven Caterpillarreputation for performance, versatilityand reliability.Ease of OperationCaterpillar Augers are designed with theoperator in mind. The coupler interfaceis matched to the Cat Skid SteerLoader’s mechanical quick couplersystem for fast, secure work toolchanges. Hydraulic hose routing, hoselength and quick disconnects have beenoptimized to ensure proper routing andfit-up. Steps are conveniently locatedon the mounting bracket to facilitateoperator entry and exit. Operation ofCat Augers is easy with Caterpillarjoystick controls...virtually everythingis at your fingertips.Caterpillar offers three types of augers.The A13 and A19 operate efficiently onthe standard flow hydraulics of Cat SkidSteer Loaders, while the A26 isdesigned specifically for the high flowauxiliary hydraulic circuit andhorsepower capabilities of the Cat 228and 248 models. The A13 Augerprovides the best performance in lightto moderate duty applications withauger bits up to 610 mm (24 in) indiameter. The A19 Auger provides thebest performance in moderate to heavyduty applications with auger bits up to914 mm (36 in) in diameter due to theadditional torque output available to thedrive shaft and auger bit. The A26Auger provides the best performance inextreme duty, high performance drillingwith auger bits up to 914 mm (36 in) indiameter due to its exceptional outputtorque capabilities to the drive shaft andauger bit.2

Features:■ Two standard flow augers areavailable: the chain driven A13which generates 2772 N•m (2043 lbft)of torque at a maximum operatingpressure of 227 bar (3300 psi) andthe planetary driven A19 whichgenerates 3983 N•m (2935 lb-ft) oftorque at a maximum operatingpressure of 227 bar (3300 psi).■ One high flow auger is available:the planetary-driven A26 whichgenerates 7079 N•m (5238 lb-ft) oftorque at a maximum operatingpressure of 310 bar (4500 psi).■ Chain drive system on the A13features a variable speed,bidirectional, gerotor style hydraulicmotor coupled to a sprocket/chainreduction system for optimal bitspeed and output torque for light tomoderate duty applications.■ Single reduction planetary systemon the A19 features a variable speed,bidirectional, gerotor style hydraulicmotor mounted to a planetary gearbox for optimal bit speed and outputtorque for moderate to heavy dutyapplications. The additional outputtorque provides better performancewith larger diameter bits.■■■■Double reduction planetary systemon the A26 features a variable speed,bidirectional, gear hydraulic motormounted to a planetary gear box foroptimal bit speed and output torquefor extreme duty, high performancedrilling requirements. Its exceptionaloutput torque capabilities providesexcellent performance in the toughestconditions with the largest diameterbits.An exclusive Cat mounting bracketis common to all Cat Auger designs.It incorporates a full width torquetube, an articulated joint, "D" ringhose guide, cradle and "stand" feet.These features provide superiorstructural reinforcement, positioningflexibility, proper hose routing, easytransportation and near-verticalmounting bracket storage.Caterpillar XT and mediumpressure hose, couplings and O-ring face seals provide superior leakfree performance and reliability. Allhoses are wrapped with nylon wovenCordura sleeving for added operatorprotection.
