WATER FUNSpray <strong>Park</strong>Come out to visit our zero-depth spray park cushioned by a safe and softresilient rubber surface. Based on a nautical theme, water sprays and squirtsthrough a whale’s tail, an anchor, a mast and a number of other ground levelspouts. The spray park attraction is $3 for <strong>Westmont</strong> residents and $5 fornon-resident children. An adult or guardian must accompany children under 6years of age; adults are free of charge.The Backstop Concession Stand will be open for your beverage and foodneeds. We have a wide assortment of soda, ice cream, candy and much more.Your kids will love eating the Sponge Bob and Spiderman ice cream. Pizza,hot dogs, nachos and hot pretzels always hit the spot on a summer day. Noneed to leave the park for lunch, the Backstop is right up the path!Summer PassesThe <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> is teaming up with the Clarendon Hills <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> this summer to provide outdoor swimmingfor <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> residents. In this neighborly rate program, the Clarendon Hills <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> has allocated 125family passes for Lions <strong>Park</strong> Pool to <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> residents.Starting Monday, March 21, families who have not purchased a pool membership in <strong>20</strong>09 or <strong>20</strong>10 may register withthe <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> on a first come, first serve basis. Stop by the <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> Community Center toreceive your approval letter and registration form to be presented to the Clarendon Hills <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong>. You must registerwith the <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> first in order to receive your letter and registration form. You must be a <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong><strong>District</strong> resident to qualify to get your letter of approval. SUMMER CAMPSummer Day CampAges: 6-9 years old or grades 1-4Come and explore all while having fun in our active outdoor day campat Veterans Memorial <strong>Park</strong> where children are encouraged to expandtheir personal horizons through cooperative games, swimming, specialevents, field trips, sports, cook outs, craft activities, and much more.During inclement weather such as extreme heat and/or rain, campwill be held in the Community Center building. Parents will receivea welcome letter approximately one week before the program begins,outlining the daily operations of the camp and emergency informationforms, which need to be filled out, signed and returned by the first dayof camp. Please note: transportation is not included in the campfees. If bus service is needed, please see the bus schedule page forroutes and fees. If you do not receive a letter one week before campbegins, please call the park district at (630) 963-5252.To register for the program, please complete the registration form andindicate bus route and stop if needed. No camp will be held on Monday,July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Well, here is thesolution, this half-day program is structured and designed to fit theneeds and interest of our younger campers. They too will enjoyparticipating in games, sports, crafts, stories, songs and team buildingactivities right along with all day campers in the outdoor environmentat Veterans <strong>Park</strong>. During inclement weather such as extreme heat and/orrain, camp will be held in the Community Center building. Thehalf-day camp fee includes one field trip plus one aquatic day at Lion’sPool in Clarendon Hills per session. SUMMER CAMPSummerCampServicesDay Camp TransportationOur camp programs offer a bus service at an additional fee to pick up and drop off campers at neighborhood locations on both the north and southside of town. This service is optional and is operated by the <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> camp staff. If using this method of transportation, please referto the bus schedule to select your route and bus stop that is closest to your home. Make sure to indicate your selection on the registration form.Arrangements should be made for an adult to supervise children at the bus stop in both the morning and afternoon. All participants will be notifiedby telephone regarding drop off and pick up times a few days before each session of camp begins. The bus transportation is only available for DayCamp and Camp Operation Fun participants. In order for this service to be available, it is essential that the minimum number of participants is metin each session. SUMMER CAMPCamp RegistrationThe registration deadline is one week before each campsession begins. A $35 deposit per session is required uponregistration. Deposits are non-refundable and they areincluded in the tuition fees. All camp fees must be paid infull by June 1, <strong>20</strong>11 or upon session registration after thatdate. Since space is limited and the counselors are hired tofulfill group size, the camp fees are not pro-rated. Pleasenote that online registration is not an available method ofregistration for camp programs since birth certificates arerequired to sign up for camp.Camp PaymentsPayments for Day Camp, Camp Operation Fun and Pre/PostCamps can be made by using a major credit card, cash orcheck. All payments for camp programs are accepted atthe Community Center located at 75. E Richmond Street.Please call the <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> at (630) 963-5252 for furtherinformation regarding payments.Camp StaffAll activities are supervised by fully trained counselors whoare certified in first aid, CPR and AED. The camp staff iscarefully selected for their leadership abilities, caring natureand strong desire to work with children of all ages in bothsmall and large groups in a recreational setting.Parent OrientationParents and campers are encouraged to attend the camporientation meeting on Wed., June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Senior/Administration Building located at 55 E Richmond St. Thisis a great opportunity to meet the camp staff, learn importantinformation and have all your camp questions answered.LunchDay Camp and Camp Operation Fun campers should bringtheir lunch in a cooled container and water in an insulatedbottle marked with their name. Water breaks will be takenoften and encouraged throughout the day.SwimmingCampers from each camp will escape the heat at the<strong>Westmont</strong> High School indoor pool for recreationalswimming each week. The Day Camp campers attend onTuesdays & Thursdays and the Camp Operation Fun campersattend on Mondays & Wednesdays. The pool is supervised bytrained lifeguards and camp staff. Occasionally, both campswill utilize Lions Pool in Clarendon Hills as an alternativesite for swimming.Field TripsEach session of Day Camp includes one paid field trip andthe Camp Operation Fun camp includes three field tripsduring each session of camp at no additional cost as well. Inaddition, both camps will also take walking field trips to localparks, nearby attractions or down town businesses each week.A camp T-shirt is included in the camp fee and is required tobe worn on field trip days. Information and permission formspertaining to these activities are sent home in advance.Pre/Post CampAges: 6-13 years old or 1 st - 8 th gradesThis program is designed to provide supervision for children whoneed additional care before and/or after the normal camp hours.Activities include both quiet games inside and recreational adventuresin the gym or at the playground outside. Get a picnic pack fromthe <strong>Westmont</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> and enhance your picnic, outing orget-together. Pack includes: equipment bag with 1 soccer ball,2 softballs & 2 bats, 1 playground ball, volleyball, and 1 croquet set. A$50 credit card deposit is required to insure return of equipment in goodorder. You must reserve your picnic pack in advance. For weekend reservations,Picnic Packs are available for pick-up on Friday and must bereturned the following Monday. A $2 late fee per day will be applied toall late returns. The proratedrefund will be based on the number ofclasses that have occurred at the time theRefund Request form is received by the parkdistrict. The Superintendant of Recreationwill consider exceptions to this policy dueto other extenuating circumstances. TheRefund policy excludes trip tickets,preschool and camp deposits and adult sportsleagues. Please allow two weeks to receiveyour refund check in the mail.
