<strong>Beamtower</strong>General principles and characteristicsAnti-climb-over and antiopening protectionThe top cap of the column contains an antitamper board withantiopening and anti-climb-over protection.ControllerThe controller is the heart of the column and allits electronic components are connected to it. Thecontroller of the receiver column is connectedto the control panel or to the module and, forsynchronization, to the corresponding controllerof the transmitter column. The connectionsbetween the columns and the control panel aremade through two different RS485 serial busses.Battery bayEach column is equipped with a bay for one12V/7Ah battery.Front coverThe front cover of the <strong>Beamtower</strong> barriers consist inremovable polycarbonate modules which are insertedone on top of the other. In this way, access to theelectronic components is comfortable both during theinstallation and maintenance.
Orientation of the optical systemMODBEAM modulesThe MODBEAM are the optical system ofthe barrier, we distinguish: transmissionand reception modules. Each module emits2 beams, each of them being composed oftwo parallel rays. The interruption of thebeam is detected by analyzing the cuttingof the rays it is composed of: a techniquewhich increases significantly the immunityagainst false alarms. The beams can beprogrammed independently. For eachof them it is possible to program oneof the numerous detection modes. Thedetection modes analyze: the number ofsimultaneously interrupted beams in adetermined period of time, the interruptiontime and the position of the beam inside thecolumn.OrientationThe lenses of the MODBEAM modules can beturned individually on the horizontal and verticalaxis. The alignment of the beams is made with thehelp of two precision control knobs permitting amillimetric adjustment.The +/-90° horizontal orientation of the beamspermits the installation of the column in perimeterconfigurations with 180 degrees orientationof the beams. The +/-10° vertical orientationof the beams permits the compensation ofdifferences of levels if the columns are installedon craggy ground. According to the distance, thecompensation varies from 1.7 to 10.5 meters.AlignmentHeaterEach column can be equipped,depending on the model, with amaximum of two heater modules whichcompensate the temperature insidethe column in case it is particularlylow (anti-freeze protection). Thethermostatic control of the heaters isguaranteed by the controller.1 3The alignment of the barriers is a three-stageprocedure:1 Stage 1: preliminary alignmentwith optical viewfinder2 Stage 2: alignment with buzzer and handheldMONITOR 868 wireless receiver3 Stage 3: fine-tuning alignment with shutterFastening baseThe steel plate for floor mounting is equipped withreinforcing ribs and a special anti-corrosive coating andcan be fixed directly to a solid surface or a concrete plinth.2MONITOR 868
