Most topics werepresented clearly and were well organised.PronunciationPronunciation was, overall, of a very high standard. Most candidates spoke clearly with good intonation andlively expression.LanguageThe candidates used a wide range of vocabulary, spoke fluently and made good use of idiomaticexpressions.Topic and General ConversationA number of candidates could speak fluently on their topic and responded to any question asked. Othercandidates had a few difficulties in expressing their ideas, sometimes losing track of the conversation, butnevertheless, they handled the oral exam with maturity and confidence and could answer the questions.Only a very small number of candidates experienced severe limitations, responding in simple sentences andtranslated the words literally from English and lost track.Paper 8679/02Reading and WritingGeneral commentsThe examination proved to be well within the capability and understanding of the candidates, and theyanswered most questions well.
