Question 2Candidates performed much better here, and many who scored very little on Question 1 scored full markshere.Question 3Candidates tended to write a very brief answer which could be appended to any question, namely that thelipstick remained intact. However, more specific detail was required.Question 4It was rare for candidates not to score here.Partie BQuestion 5Again most candidates were successful, although some did not make it clear that the natural gas needed tobe contained in the source/spring.Question 6Here, as on one or two other occasions, candidates were careless with their negative particles, omitting newith que, or elsewhere omitting pas. It should be noted that such omissions do affect the sense of what acandidate is trying to convey. Many candidates successfully came up with the required three.Question 10A few candidates reproduced the definition verbatim, but many others failed to make a description that madesense.Question 11An easy mark was available for the first point, and a fair number of candidates made a good attempt at thesecond point - although here, as in Question 8, the spelling of the word exempt(e) posed problems.Question 12This question was answered well.Section 2Question 13Many details were available to complete the description of the éclaireur, and most candidates scored at leastthree marks. Some answers became rather confused and had the éclaireur wearing a commando on hishead or being a commandant.9
