PUBLIC SAFETYThe Public Safety Department sponsors several programs to help ensure the safety <strong>of</strong> <strong>Band</strong>members and local communities, including a neighborhood watch group, a child passengersafety seat program, and Project Jumpstart. The department also <strong>of</strong>fers canine registrationto <strong>Band</strong> members. Public Safety applies for supplemental grant funding through the U.S.Department <strong>of</strong> Justice Community Oriented Policing <strong>Services</strong> (COPS).Emergency ManagementThe <strong>Band</strong>’s Emergency Operations Plan is designed to protect <strong>Band</strong> property and <strong>Band</strong>members’ lives and property through preparedness, response, mitigation and recoveryrelated to natural, technical, hazardous material, and terrorism disasters.
