XtraCut 25 – Increased
working time
Another outstanding development
is the chopping unit: XtraCut 25
With its 25 extra long blades, the cutting
quality is considerably improved.
Just like the XtraCut 17 , this chopping
unit can also be used with the group
control of 25, 13, 12 or 0 blades
to increase working time between
sharpening.
The hydraulic protection against
foreign objects, as well as the quick
removal of the knives, are also a
matter of course for this cutting unit.

Roller bearings to suit the professional user
The Welger round baler 235 Profi is
fitted all round, right and left, with
extra strong 50 mm diameter roller
shafts.
The strength of these shafts ensures
precise alignment of the sprockets
minimizing chain wear.
In addition, exceptionally large longlasting
roller bearings are also fitted.
Well lubricated for success
The roller lubricating device, available
as an optional extra, minimizes the
maintenance required and provides
an extension to the service life of the
roller bearings.

Ease of maintenance
A good design
is a functional design.
Not only was an „attractive”
appearance important to us
in the newly designed
panelling, easy access
to all major assemblies
was also a high priority.
The doors are raised in seconds so
that the routine maintenance work
can easily be carried out.

POWERSPLIT- split power
drive concept ... designed for
outstanding performance
Machines with a massive throughput
obviously require a drive system that
is able to withstand the consequent
high loads.
In the new Welger round balers
RP 235 and RP 235 PROFI, the
POWERSPLIT transmission equally
divides the total amount of power
required by the rotor and bale
chamber.
Also, this patented split drive train
requires a reduced amount of tractor
power.
POWERGRIP steel rollers
The RP 235 POWERGRIP steel rollers
ensure the highest bale compression
and excellent baling performance and
rotation under all operating conditions.
In a special manufacturing process,
the 10 ribs on each roller are pressed
into the thick-walled tube. Due to each
roller being seamless, the material
structure gives the rollers an unequalled
strength and long life.

harvest residues from penetrating
the area of the roller bearings.

Mechanical tailgate locking
The best balers are worthless if the tail
gate can open during operation.
That’s why Welger fits as standard a
mechanical tail gate lock.
Hydraulic systems have the reputation,
amongst other disadvantages, to open
under high load, while the hooks of
the Welger machine frame and tailgate
securely lock.
The finished bales are uniformly denser,
well formed and with remarkably
low crop losses.
Permanent tailgate guide
The round baler RP 235 is fitted with
a special tailgate guide.
A spigot ensures that even on extreme
hillside conditions, the tailgate will always
close precisely.
Thus everything fits together
exactly where it should.

for many years now, and the RP 235
continues this reputation.
For many years, Welger has gained
outstanding experience with a clearing
paddle.
Incoming material is transported
through an opening in the side wall,
away from the bearing.
Wide angle PTO shaft
The 80° wide angle PTO shaft, with
a quick release lock on the tractor end,
is attached simply. It allows tight turns
without the need to turn off the PTO.
This makes the machine extremely
easy to manoeuvre and protects the
power take-off shaft coupling.
The standard, auto re-set clutch
protects the machine against any
overload. Easy to operate with
no time consuming replacement
shear bolts required.

Twine or net wrapping – fast, reliable, economic!
VARIOTWIN
The special feature of this twine wrapping
system is the variator control.
With this facility, the bales receive
extra twine on the bale edges, even
where there is a wide distance between
the twine in the centre of the
bale. In this way, even dry, difficult
to hold crops can be securely, quickly
and economically tied.

Wide pick up with ballbearings
throughout
The pick up of a baler operates in an
area that is known for wear. In particular,
the high proportion of contamination
that occurs here leaves no chance
for standard bearings or bushes to
last, such as those used in some other
machines.
VARIONET-Net wrapping with
EASY LOAD SYSTEM (ELS)
The net wrapping, VARIONET, which
has been well proven to be extremely
reliable, has again been considerably
improved.
With the „EASY LOAD SYSTEM”
insertion of the net roll could not
be any easier.
Welger sets new standards here.
Specially sealed grooved ball-bearings
ensure not only low power, they also
exceed the service life of a normal
bearing many times over.
After being loaded in from the side,
the new net roll is simply located to
the back of the storage container,
and then loaded into the operating
position where it is locked in place.
This saves time and effort!
Precise height control through a springbalanced
hydraulic lifting device and
accurately adjustable guide wheels on
both sides are standard, also available
as an option are castor wheels.
VARIONET – perfect operation,
child’s play to operate
VARIONET places the net evenly and
securely around the well shaped bales,
when using the wide nets even over
the bale edges.
This provides perfect protection from
the effects of the weather and reduces
fodder loss and improving the quality.

HYDROFLEXCONTROL –
exclusively only to Welger!
HYDROFLEXCONTROL
We don’t need
a reversing system!
The HYDROFLEXCONTROL is a well
proven Welger feature. In contrast to
other round balers the feed channel
floor into the bale chamber is not
welded to the baler chassis but is
suspended with a flexible mounting.
With this innovative design the floor
can move up and down slightly to allow
small stones or unevenness in the
swath to pass through thus avoiding
any blockages in the rotor. This movement
of the feed table floor reduces
the risk of damage to important machine
components and therefore avoids
any interruptions in work.
New chopping units – even more flexibility with XtraCut 17 !
MasterCut 13
The wide range of newly developed
Welger chopping units starts with
the MasterCut 13 .
13 extra long blades that project
deep into the ring zone of the
rotor ensure reliable cutting
of the crop. This increases not only
the bale density but also
accelerates the fermentation process
and gives the fodder an improved
structure especially for ruminants.
In addition, the digest ability of
the fodder is greatly improved.
The HYDROFLEXCONTROL floor can
also be opened and closed from the
tractor seat by two hydraulic rams.
This not only allows easy access for
changing or altering the cutting width
of the knives but in the case of a blockage
the feed table can simply be opened
allowing the block to be conveyed
into the bale chamber without any loss
of crop. After a few seconds work can
resume.
The HYDROFLEXCONTROL is only
available on Welger balers and is
far superior to complicated and much
slower reversing systems thus maintaining
maximum output at all times.
XtraCut 17 – Increased
working time
The best quality silage can be
achieved with the newly developed
chopping unit XtraCut 17 .
The new system offers many features,
improved material flow and due to longer
knives an improved quality of cut.
XtraCut 17 offers even more. As well as
using 17 blades they can be divided
into two groups, Group A with 9 blades
and Group B with the remaining
8 blades.
Advantage:
increased working time between
re-grinding stops. Naturally, the blades
can be quickly removed and are also
protected against overload.
Not only the number (quantity) of the
cuts is decisive, but also the quality.
With XtraCut 17 , the blades also project
deep into the ring zone of the rotor
giving a finer cut and leaving no
chance of any of the crop remaining
un-cut.
