Micro shorts, mini skirts, coloredvests, monster heels, vans, glow in thedark accessories and other sexy items. This was what the crowd looked likeat the hotly anticipated Durban legof Ramfest went down at The Origin. From the moment we entered the clubwe could smell the debauchery in theair, it was going to be a buck wild nightas the flyer had promised. The venueboasts unparalleled attention to detail, from the floor to the ceiling. Since it wasmy first time attending this day of thunderas it is known, I went in there withan open mind and enough curiosity tokill all cats. Bouncers were everywherewith little micro phone thingies, no actingthe fool here for sure. People of acertain age flocking into the venue withmulticoloured hipster clothing and theplan to own the nights with base beatsand beers enough to melt your face off.The decor at The origin to say the leastis visually arresting. It was so psychedelicI felt like I had popped mushroomsor acid and had somehow landed on theback end of musical apocalypse. Andthere were definitely some suspectswalking around. What caught my eyeswas this purple luminous light emergingfrom behind a wooden wall. The eveningwas not yet in full swing , I was startingto think maybe I should have takensome substances as well. The kids herelooked so good I found myself pervingat one two pairs of luscious long legs. The line-up forRamfest Durbanincluded Belgianbase-master Netskyas well as local talentssuch at Nightvisionand Icarus. The eventhosted at The Originin Glennwood was oneof the highlights of thefestival which takesplaces in 5 citiesI didn’t sit for long, being a drum andbase girl, I rushed to the wooden bar asthe Bear girls started punting and purgingsome other ( emphasis on OTHER,pronounced U-THAAA), shit I’ve neverheard before. If you are a drum and basefan you know what i’m talking about. You know that beat that beckons you tothe dance floor and makes your limbspop in ways you never imagined. Thatwas me, I was having a party in my pants. The evening pretty early was turningout to be a fuzzy muddle of pleasures.I then proceeded to the roof bar, alongthe stairs I bumped into some kids whoalready looked like they had been herefor a week. They saw the photographerwith a professional looking camera andimmediately asked for a picture! I despisethese pose-ee pictures, I like thecatch-them- unaware photos. None theless no harm was done, right? We indulgetheir attention seeking tendencies, clickclickand we continue our pilgrimage tothe upper tiers if this bacon-face fest.
