1 General safety instructions and explanation of symbols1.2 Explanation of symbolsWarnings are indicated by a warning triangleand a grey background.Signal words are used to indicate the seriousness of theensuing risk if measures for minimising damage are nottaken.– Caution indicates that minor damage to property mayoccur.– Warning indicates that minor personal injury or severedamage to property may occur.– Danger means that severe personal injury may occur.Very serious cases may result in death.Notes are identified in the text by this symbol. They are bounded by horizontal linesabove and below the text.Notes contain important information in cases where thereis no risk to the user or the appliance.4Logano GB125 BE US/CA - Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

Product description22 Product descriptionTo ensure safe, economical and environmentally friendlyuse of the heating system, we recommend that you carefullyread the safety instructions and operating instructions. These instructions provide the operator of the heatingsystem with an overview of the use and operation of theboiler.2.1 Intended useThe boiler is designed for central heating and indirectheating of domestic hot water (e.g. with use of a hot watertank), for instance in single family homes or multi familybuildings. Any other purpose is considered improper use.2.2 Certification and testing markThis appliance has been tested and certified for the USand Canadian markets.2.3 DisposalV Dispose of boiler packaging in an environmentallyresponsible manner.V All heating system components that have to bereplaced should be disposed of in environmentallyresponsible manner at an authorized disposal site.Logano GB125 BE US/CA - Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice. 5

2 Product description2.4 Product descriptionThis unit is a condensing boiler equipped with an oilpower burner and modulating control of the boiler watertemperature. The boiler consists of:– Logamatic controls– Boiler jacket– Boiler vessel with insulation– Burner– Secondary (condensing) heat exchanger systemThe controls monitors and controls all electrical boilercomponents. The boiler jacket prevents heat loss and acts as a noiseinsulator. The boiler heat exchanger transfers the heat generated bythe burner to the boiler water. The insulation preventsenergy loss.Fig. 1Boiler with burner1 Logamatic controls2 Boiler jacket3 Boiler vessel with insulation4 Burner hood5 BurnerFig. 2Rear view with secondary (condensing) heatexchanger (thermal insulation not shown)1 Secondary (condensing) heat exchanger system6Logano GB125 BE US/CA - Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

Commissioning the heating system33.3 Starting the boiler system using the Logamatic 2107 ControlsTurning the Logamatic 2107 controls on automaticallyplaces the burner on standby. The burner will then be firedupon a heat demand. For more information, consult theinstruction manual for the Logamatic 2107.V Set the boiler temperature control [1] to "AUT" (Automaticmode). In that setting, the controls manages allfunctions of the boiler.V Set the ON/OFF switch [2] to position "I" (ON).Information on operating the system, e.g. settingthe temperatures, can be found in thedocumentation of the Logamatic 2107.21Fig. 5Switching on the Logamatic 2107 controls1 Boiler manual thermostat2 ON/OFF switch7 747 019 141-28.1RS3.4 Shutting down the heating systemV Turn off the ON/OFF switch on the controls(position "0"). This switches off the boiler and all itscomponents (such as the burner).V Shut off fuel supply by closing main valve.Caution: Risk of system damage from freezing. If the heating system has been switched off,it may freeze in cold weather conditions.V Leave the heating system running as muchas possible.V Protect the heating system from freezingby draining the heating system and hotwater pipes at the lowest point.3.5 Action in an emergencyIn the event of an emergency, e.g. a fire, proceed as follows:V Never put yourself at risk of fatal injury. Your own safetymust always take the highest priority.V Shut off fuel supply by closing main valve.V Isolate the heating system from the mains power supplyby disengaging the heating system circuit breakeror emergency shutoff switch.Logano GB125 BE US/CA - Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice. 9

3 Commissioning the heating system3.6 Operating tipsThe right fuelTo ensure it operates properly, the heating systemrequires fuel of the correct type and grade.Caution: Risk of system damage from use ofincorrect fuel.V Only use the fuel specified. The correctfuel is entered in tab. 2 by the heating contractor.Only use this fuel type#2 Fuel oil ASTM D396-05 Type 2Approved for B5 fuel oil____________________________3.7 Why is regular servicing important?Heating systems should be regularly maintained for thefollowing reasons:– to achieve a high level of efficiency,– to operate the system economically (low fuel consumption),– to maintain the cleanest possible combustion– to ensure reliable operation and a long service life.Caution: Risk of damage to system due tolack of or inadequate cleaning and maintenance.V Have your heating system inspected, cleaned and maintained by a trained andcertified heating contractor once a year.V We recommend you sign a contract coveringan annual inspection and conditionbased maintenance.____________________________________________Stamp/Date/SignatureTab. 2 Fuel to be used (entered by heating systeminstaller)Never use gasoline, kerosine, crank case, or other fuels!Information on the boiler roomCaution: Risk of boiler damage from contaminatedcombustion air.V Keep the supply of air for combustion freeof corrosive substances (e.g. halogenatedhydrocarbons that contain chlorine or fluorinecompounds). In that way you will preventcorrosion.V Prevent heavy accumulations of dust.Caution: Risk of system damage from flooding.V In the event of risk of flooding, disconnectthe boiler from its power supply and shutoff the fuel supply before water enters theboiler room.V After the flood has subsided, ask your installerto check the heating system beforestarting it up again.V All parts that have been in contact withwater must be replaced by a trained andcertified heating contractor.10Logano GB125 BE US/CA - Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

Troubleshooting44 TroubleshootingThere are two types of fault:– Burner faults and– Control and heating system faults. If there is a burner fault, the fault indicator lamp on theburner will light ( burner documentation). Such faultscan generally be reset by pressing the reset button on theburner. Controls and heating system faults are indicatedon the display of the controls. More detailed informationcan be found in the documentation of the Logamatic2107 controls.Correcting burner faultsCaution: Risk of burner damage from frequentpressing of the reset button. If the reset button is pressed more than 3times in quick succession the ignition transformercan be damaged.V Do not press the reset button more thanthree times in a row.V If the fault does not reset after the third attempt, try to localize and rectify the faultwith the help of the burner documentation.V Notify a a trained and certified heatingcontractor.Fig. 61 Reset buttonResetting the burnerV Press reset button on burner.Caution: Risk of system damage from freezing. The heating system can freeze up in coldweather if it has been disabled due to a faultshutdown.V Rectify the fault immediately and restartthe heating system.V If this is not possible, protect your heatingsystem from freezing by draining the heatingsystem and hot water pipes at the lowestpoint.Logano GB125 BE US/CA - Technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice. 11
