Should the project fail despite her efforts, Overhill’scareer could suffer a severe setback.Overhill will be addressing some of the basic difficulties with IR in general (like lackof feedback to originators of incident reports). Thus, she will not merely be salvaginga troubled information technology implementation but will also be furthering thequality improvement goals of her department and the overall mission of her organization.The current difficulties with the CIRS represent both a risk and an opportunityfor Overhill. The current situation, if managed poorly, could lead to cost overruns,demoralized staff, and a system failure.
