<strong>Athletics</strong> <strong>Results</strong>A number of <strong>King</strong> <strong>Edward</strong> <strong>VII</strong> <strong>School</strong> boys participated in theSA <strong>School</strong>s <strong>Athletics</strong> Championships and National Youth ClubChampionships over the Easter holidays, there were a numberof excellent results.SA <strong>School</strong>s <strong>Athletics</strong> Championships – East London 28 to 30MarchPatrick Duvenage achieved a double gold medal, winning theu15 Shot Put with a throw of 17.35m and u15 Discus with athrow of 63.35m. Patrick’s Discus throw bettered the previousnational record of 62.10m. A truly outstanding achievement.KES now holds two national athletics records; Ntokozo Mbokazistill holds the National u15 Triple Jump record from 2008.Mandla Ntlumayo recovered from a fall at the 130m mark of theu15 800m to place 3 rd in a time of 2min01,22Phumulani Sibisi placed 5 th overall on the u17 high jump,despite only being u16. He cleared 1,85m and he winnerachieved 1,90m.


National Youth Club Championships – Pilditch, Pretoria 5 to 6AprilPatrick Duvenage was once again in top form winning both theu15 Discus and Shot Put.Mandla Ntlumayo improved his 800m time to 2min00,13, but stillplaced third in the u15 800m race.Emilio Despotakis competed in the u17 400m, despite beingonly 15 and achieved 4 th place. He then won gold as part of theGauteng Medley Relay team.Tevin Hlatswayo competed in the u19 100m, where he wasknocked out in the semi-finals, and then was placed 4 th in theu19 4 x 100m relay team.
