With the extension usingadditional sensors it can become a complete respiratory survey andmonitoring system.Basic Capnography FunctionThe capnograph is equipped with a built-in highly sensitive infraredspectroscopy CO 2 sensor. The sensor is pressure and temperaturecompensated. The very low volume of the sensor, the optimized systemvolume and the application of a micro-pump allows very accurate monitoring ofrespiratory CO 2 concentration on small animals.Extended Functions (optional)The Capnograph can be equiped with two additional sensors. A pressuresensor for measuring tracheal pressure and a pneumotach with differentialpressure transducer for measuring respiratory airflow. These sensors aremounted directly on the tracheal or intubation cannula and connected tothe control unit, this serves to minimize the dead space.The tracheal pressure and the respiratory flow are important signals tomonitor mechanical ventilation when using a respirator.
