Like me,maybe you did everything expected by society in order to become successful.I completed college, went directly to medical school to become an M.D.and got married to a wonderful man along the way. After 11 years of posthigh school education, I finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel …or so I thought. In society’s eyes, I had reached the peak of my achievements,so what more could I want or ask for? As a physician, I made a six-figureincome. I had a wonderful husband who was also a physician, we lived ona gorgeous horse farm and we were starting a family. That is the Americandream, right? Then, why in the world would someone like me startselling makeup?Initially, I started my Arbonne business while I was still completing my trainingin medicine. I was just looking for some extra money to spend on myhorse hobby. In the beginning, I thought if I could have the potential to makea few extra thousand per month, I would be content. I had no intentions onleaving my career in medicine, a career path I had chosen and pursued sinceI was 4-years-old. I also had no idea how I would fit one more thing into my80-hour work week, but I felt I had no other way out if I expected to quitworking extra hours overnight in the emergency room.Throughout my training in medicine, I had always felt as if there was somethingmissing in my life that would make it complete. Medicine should be avery rewarding career, however, with the changes in society, many physiciansfeel less fulfilled and more pressured by the nature of big business it hasevolved into. I find it ironic, and a little bit funny, that I would receive thatfeeling of fulfillment through my Arbonne business rather than my medicalcareer. Helping other women become successful leaders and enabling themto achieve a feeling of completeness is much more rewarding than all I hadaccomplished through my medical career.My husband and I are lucky enough to have added a new addition to ourfamily, our baby boy, Samuel. Others dream of allowing their husbands towork less so they can be together as a family more. Then there arethose who dream of early retirement, while others dream of sendingtheir children to the colleges of their choice. Whatever the dream is,Arbonne has the potential to provide for those who have a positiveattitude, an unswerving determination and are willing to work hardto reach their dreams. Do not let others around you steal yourdreams away.Many people ask, “What is the secret to making this business a success?”I feel there is no secret formula. However, I believe there is apersonality trait that those who succeed have in common — a positiveattitude. Life is all about attitude, and this business tests your ability tokeep a positive attitude and an optimistic outlook on life, despite theobstacles you may encounter. If you work hard, stay determined toreach your goals and strive to stay positive, it is only a matter of timebefore you achieve success.The most important lesson I have learned is anything is possible if youput your mind to it. Just remind yourself not to let anyone, or anything,get in the way of your dreams. There will always be numerous skepticsregarding network marketing because they truly do not understandthe business concept. However, you need to look to those who believeyou can succeed and follow their belief until you have developedyour own.I was fortunate enough to have the full support of my wonderful husband,Rudy, from the very beginning. He continually told me I wouldbe an NVP in just a matter of time. I could not have ever had the successI now enjoy without his undying support. Rudy, thank you foralways being there to help me.
