eye on arbonneregional vice presidentICan DoThisWhen she became a mom, physical therapistLisa Marshall of Uniontown, Ohio, was torn between the career she loved— helping people — and being home full-time withher family. Thanks to Arbonne, Lisa’s found a wayto have it all: a great income, a business from home,full-time-mom status — and the chance to continuehelping people through Arbonne.“I can do this, and I do it.” This is a quote I repeated to myself oftenduring my three months of qualification for RVP. It is from a book thatmy NVP, Dr. Laura Fortner, encouraged me to read — and I believe itis one of the keys that helped me arrive where I am sitting right now.I am amazed and so grateful that I made it here. When I began my Arbonnebusiness in January 2009, I truly did not believe I would ever get to whereI am today. I wanted it to happen, but I did not believe I could do it.I have been a physical therapist for 14 years, and I love what I do. I lovehelping people. But when our first child was born, seven years ago, I feltconflicted. I had always dreamed of being a full-time stay-at-home mom,but at the time that did not seem financially possible. So I kept working,part-time, and was not enjoying it nearly as much as I had before becominga mom. Then we welcomed our second child, and my desire to be homefull-time only grew stronger. At the same time, I fell in love with Arbonne’samazing products, but I never thought I could run a business.Lisa MarshallArbonne Independent Consultant, Regional Vice PresidentFast-forward 18 months, when I attended an Arbonne Presentation. Iwent to support my friend and planned only to place an order for theproducts. Then I met (now NVP) Dr. Laura Fortner. My life will be foreverchanged because of that night. Laura shared her story, and I was blownaway. I never imagined a business like this could generate an incomelike she had. I remember listening and being amazed — but still thinkingI could never do it. I was way too shy and did not have many friends.“I started to work on self-development and readthe right books — and that’s why I’m here today.”But I still met Laura a couple of days later to talk about this business. She asked me a lot of questions about me and about my family. I realizedduring our conversation that I was not as prepared as I should be for the➤Lisa’s Why.Lisa’s family: husband Eric, son Aiden and daughter Paige.

future. When she asked me the question, “If you continue to do the samething you’re doing, where will you be in 5 years?” I knew the path I had myfamily on was not a good one. I felt God put this opportunity in my life, andI made the decision to start my Arbonne business.I was fearful, but I knew if I followed Laura’s example, I had a chance.I made it to DM in three months. But by the end of my first year, I wasfrustrated and did not know if I should continue. My husband would notlet me quit, though. He fully supported and believed in me. He also taughtme quitting is not an option. His support and encouragement meant theworld. I did not want to let him or my kids down.SUCCESS strategy“Coaching with my upline, attending every event I could, following the system.”Then Laura called to suggest we begin coaching weekly. I said, “Yes.” Iwasn’t ready to give up. I booked my calendar with six workshops January2010 and began coaching. I decided to truly follow the system and attendevery event I could. What a difference coaching made in my business.I soon became an Area Manager and my team grew. Could I actuallybecome a Regional Vice President? I continued to stay connected, attendeverything I could, coach my team and be coached. Then I attended mythird GTC in January 2011. The vision my team and I saw was incredible, and I was ready to be the leader I was meant to be.We were on fire when we returned, and we started qualification for RegionFebruary 2011. This is when I started to work on self-development and readthe right books — and that’s why I’m here today. We finished Region at theend of April and it was a team effort, right up until the last minute. Two anda half years it took me and I would not change a thing, because I wouldnot be the person I am today without the whole experience and education.I first need to thank my husband, Eric, for all his support. I could not havedone this without him. Thank you for not letting me give up. Thank you forall the things you do behind the scenes to make sure our house and kidsare taken care of. You have sacrificed too. Our dreams are coming truebecause of Arbonne. Also, thank you to my children, Aiden and Paige, forbeing so understanding when Mommy needs to leave to go to a meetingor workshop.
