The Punyatithi <strong>of</strong> HH Shankarashram SwamijiII was observed on January 18 with Guru Poojan byYuvadhara youths. Dr. Chaitanya Gulvady read outthe teachings <strong>of</strong> Poojya Swamiji from verses 46 to 85<strong>of</strong> Chapter 15 and conducted a short, lively vimarsh.A gist <strong>of</strong> the Sannikarsha held to date by all theSabhas in Karla was also shared. After the aarti, atempting prasad <strong>of</strong> panchakdai, groundnut usli withtil ladus, fruits and jalebis was served.Eight sadhakas attended the Sanskrit SambhashanShibir at Shirali in January; a wonderful experiencewith the shibirarthis making an earnest attempt tospeak in Sanskrit. Many others participated in thesuccessful one lakh Gayatri Anushthan at Shri GuruMath, Mallapur, and the Vardhanti celebrations<strong>of</strong> Bhuvaneshwari Devi Sannidhi, MahaganapatiSannidhi, Shree Shankaracharya Sannidhi and HHParijnanashram Swamiji III Paduka Sannidhi atShirali Math.Reported by Shobha PuthliMumbai, Goregaon: Vardhanti <strong>of</strong> the ShriMahaganapati and the three new shrines at ShriChitrapur Math was celebrated on 24 th January<strong>2010</strong>, with Gayatri Anushthan by 13 male devotees,including four yuvas. The programme concludedwith breakfast. The Sabha plans to continue this onthe third Sunday <strong>of</strong> every month.The ladies’ wing <strong>of</strong> the Sabha gathered at theresidence <strong>of</strong> various devotees on every SankashtiChaturthi and recited 21 avartans <strong>of</strong> Shri GanapatiAtharvashirsha. After Deepanamaskar, melodious bhajanswere sung by most <strong>of</strong> the devotees with the yuvasalso participating. One bhajan led to another andfrom the oldest devotees to the younger yuvas,everyone joined in with great devotion. The eveningconcluded with Ashtak, Mangalarati, concludingprayers and prasad.On February 3, the 13 th Ordination Day <strong>of</strong> ParamPoojya Shrimat Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamijiwas celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence.Following the commencing prayers, ParijnanTrayodashi, Gurupadukastotra were recited. Some<strong>of</strong> the large number <strong>of</strong> devotees, who had gatheredto <strong>of</strong>fer their love and respects on this auspiciousday, performed Guru Poojan. Mangalarati, Ashtakand concluding prayers ended our evening with avariety <strong>of</strong> delicious sweets <strong>of</strong>fered by devotees asprasad.
