How we met:I had come to Sinton (home) for theweekend for my Dad’s birthday,fully intending to leave right afterchurch on Sunday morning. But, aftermeeting Cheston that morning, Idecided I didn’t have to rush backto Austin so fast... The rest is history.The proposal:It was a busy Wednesday night,the day before Thanksgiving atCheston’s house. We decided totake a little break and go outsidefor awhile. We started talking aboutmarriage and what we both wantedout of it. Then out of nowhereCheston looks at me and says “Sodo you wanna get married?” Ireplied with “Are you serious?” Hisface broke out into a smile and justnodded his head. "Yes!" A weeklater he surprised me with my ringat Razoo’s in Austin. It is absolutelygorgeous!!! The center diamondbelonged to my grandmother andhe picked out the setting just for me.We couldn’t be a more perfect fit!Favorite detail:Bride: My love for antiques began atan early age with the influence of mygrandparents and parents. I wantedmy wedding to reflect my love forvintage and lace. Groom: Everydetail was personal. It was beautiful.Funniest/most embarrassingmoment:Bride: As my Dad walked me downthe aisle, he kept stepping on mydress. Right when we reached thefront he really stepped on it good andI thought we were both going to fall.It was more funny then embarrassingthough. Groom: I was blindfoldedso we could share a first kiss beforethe wedding and her brother keptmessing with me. I didn’t know who itwas until we got the pictures in.Favorite moment:Bride: When my girls and husbandwere all in the photo booth lettingloose and having a good time!The pictures were so cute!Groom: Lighting the unity candle inthe wind. Now that was a challengeand it lasted about five seconds.Biggest challenge:Bride: Getting all the guys to gettheir tuxedo measurements in. Theywere in no hurry to get any of thatdone because, of course, they haveall the time in the world!Groom: Definitely the tuxes.Advice for future brides orgrooms:Bride: Don’t stress so much. It willall come together but start planningearly! If you have an idea of whatyou want, it helps out so much!Enjoy every moment because it’llbe over before you know it.Groom: Don’t step on her toes.How to make your spouse happy:Bride: He’s an easy-going guy anda happy person! It’s not hard tomake him smile. He loves coffeein the morning, lemon in his tea,and a kiss before I leave a room.I keep doing these things and he’llstay happy.Groom: She’s a happy person,it’s the little things I do and I tell herI love her every day.Other information for couples:Bride: You can know the momentyou see each other, that he/sheis the perfect one for you.Groom: Love her, Help each other,and take out the trash.theonebrideguide.com • February – May 2013 {11}
