COMPANIONS ACTIVITIESOn Friday, June 28th, all companions are welcome to joinRiver City Trolley for a fabulous all day tour of Wichita.The day will start when the companions will be picked up by oneof River City’s famous Trolleys at 9:30am and enjoy a two hourDiscover Wichita Historic Tour with our own private trolley andguide. Step back in time to the days of Carrie Nation, WyattEarp and the early aviation pioneers. Learn about Wichita’scolorful and storied history from our knowledgeable guide. The 1 1/2 hour narrated tour windsalong the Arkansas River and throughout the Delano area intodowntown, Midtown and Old town to some of Wichita’s mosthistoric neighborhoods. Relax aboard our air-conditioned 1925style trolley as we will then make a stop in Old Town and enjoy agreat lunch at Larkspur Bistro, one of Old Town’s most famousrestaurants.After lunch the trolley willtransport everyone to theWorld Treasures Museumthat is famous for memorabilia from athletes, actors,presidents, and public figures going back severalhundred years. After our tour of the World TreasuresMuseum is complete, we will move on to Karg Glass inthe small town of Kechi, just outside of Wichita. AtKarg Glass you will see glass blowing demonstrations, beable to shop, and receive a complimentary gift from Karg.Karg GlassUpon completion in Kechi, the trolley will return all companions back to the DoubleTree by3:30pm with plenty of time to get ready for dinner and the exciting live auction.This tour is complimentary to all registered TTCF Companions. This is a no charge event to all registered TTCFCompanions, but please register on page 3 of the MemberRegistration Packet or page 4 of the Vendor Registration Packet.

FEATUREDSPEAKER9Radar Training International will present a customized 6 hour course just for Twin CessnaFlyer attendees at the annual TTCF Fly-In convention. This course would normally cost anindividual more than your entire registration fee for this year’s convention. This is a must seepresentation!!!!Erik Eliel, founder and president of Radar TrainingInternational, has been involved in aviation since 1979.His earliest years as a professional aviator were as an AirForce pilot flying the T-38, C-141, and the U-2. Hisinterest with radar began in 1991 while flying airlift andtransport missions to Europe, Africa, South America,and the Middle East. In 1997, Erik was selected to jointhe cadre of instructors at the Air Force AdvancedInstrument School in San Antonio, Texas, teachingadvanced instrument concepts to pilots representing allbranches of the DOD, NASA, and Federal LawEnforcement agencies. It was here that Erik developedand taught the first-ever formal weather radar coursefor Air Force pilots.Erik’s early interest with weather radar and severeconvective weather was inspired by the work of industry legends Bob Buck, Jim Cook, J.T.Lee, Archie Trammell, and Dr. Fred Bates. Currently,his radar seminar is offered both domestically andabroad. It has been presented to professional pilotsrepresenting the flight departments of Fortune 500companies, aviation associations, the military, and amajor airline, as well as to dispatchers andmeteorologists of aviation-related companies. He hasbeen called on by manufacturers of airborne weatherradar systems to consult in the design, operational4 employment, and evaluation of their systems. His radarand weather-related articles have been published in theNBAA Journal of Business Aviation and in Business &Commercial Aviation. In addition, his input has been solicited for safety-orientatedpublications such as the Flight Safety Foundation’s magazine AeroSafety World.Erik has over 10,000 hours of flying time and he is currently a line pilot for a major airline,logging more than 800 hours annually. RTI maintains active memberships in multipledifferent professional flying organizations and associations, including NBAA.

FEATUREDSPEAKER10Mark R. Rosekind, Ph.D. was sworn in as the 40thMember of the National Transportation Safety Board on June30, 2010. He was nominated by President Obama and confirmedby the United States Senate for a term that expires December31, 2014.Member Rosekind is an internationally recognized fatigueexpert who has conducted research and implemented programsin diverse settings, including all modes of transportation. He haspublished 150 scientific, technical, and industry papers andprovided hundreds of presentations to operational, general, andscientific audiences. His contributions have been acknowledgedthrough numerous honors and awards, including the NASAExceptional Service Medal, six other NASA Group/TeamAwards, two Flight Safety Foundation honors (PresidentialCitation for Outstanding Safety Leadership, Business AviationMeritorious Award), and as a Fellow of the World EconomicForum in Davos, Switzerland. In 2011, Member Rosekind received the Mark O. HatfieldPublicPolicy Award from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.The fatigue issue has been on the NTSB's radar for more than 20 years, Rosekind says. Duringthat time, the Board has identified fatigue as playing a role in accidents in every mode oftransportation, making 200 safety recommendations related to human fatigue. As the first BoardMember with an expertise in sleep science, Rosekind is in a unique position to effect even greaterchange in this area. But for those who have worked with him, this comes as no surprise. His entirecareer has been focused in some way on concerns regarding fatigue and safety.Steve Miller is currently a Senior Air Safety Investigator withCessna Aircraft Company. He has a BS degree in Aeronautics fromEmbry-Riddle University and also has an A&P rating and is a CFI-I.After spending five years with LearJet and three years with Cessna,both in their Experimental Departments, he joined the Air Safety teamat Cessna where he’s been for the last 11 years. He has investigatedover 140 accidents and is an instructor at the DOT TransportationSafety Institute as well as the National Transportation Board Academy.In Steve’s spare time he has rebuilt a 1960 Cessna 172 and beeninvolved with several homebuilt aircraft, including an RV-6.

Since 1975, he has been the owner andmanager of TAS Aviation, Inc. in Defiance, OH.TAS specializes the maintenance of all twinengine Cessna aircraft from the 310 to the 421.TAS works on over 200 Twin Cessnas annuallydoing everything from routine inspections tocomplete aircraft restorations and rebuilds. TASalso offers flight training, charter service, andparts procurement services.Tony is a graduate of Parks College and was theFAA Maintenance Technician of the year in 1993.He has trained over 1,000 Twin Cessna ownersthrough the renowned Twin Cessna Flyer Systems and Engine seminars. He is known for hisability to explain the complex systems on Twin Cessna aircraft in ways that make it easy for pilotsand mechanics to understand. Tony is the “go to guy” for piston powered twin engine Cessna's.SPEAKERS11Jerry Temple’s involvement with aviation began as an assault helicopter pilot during theVietnam War where he accumulated morethan 250 hours of combat time. He earned aBachelor’s Degree in Aviation managementand has been involved in aviation sales since1975, including four years with CessnaAircraft as a Marketing Specialist. Jerry wasalso the Multi-engine Sales Manager forAirFlite, a major west coast Cessnadistributor. In these capacities heaccumulated extensive flight experience in allTwin Cessna model’s as well as competitiveaircraft. In 1993, Jerry founded Jerry TempleAviation (JTA) based on the concept ofproviding Buyers and Sellers of pistonpowered aircraft with the same high standards of professional support offered in the business jetmarketplace. Today, JTA is recognized as the world’s leading Twin Cessna broker.

FEATFUERAETDURSEPDEASKPERASKE12RGeorge Braly is the head of engineering for General AviationModifications, Inc. (GAMI), and Tornado Alley Turbo, Inc. He isresponsible for a number of successful STCs for Bonanza, Baron,Cessna, and Cirrus aircraft. He has been involved in unleaded fuelresearch for 11 years and is responsible for the development ofG100UL unleaded high octane replacement for 100LL..He has been actively involved in developing a plan to transition toa new, unleaded avgas for piston-engine airplanes through theimplementation of the FAAs Unleaded Avgas Transition Aviation Rulemaking Committee (UAT-ARC) recommendations. Currently, there are no high-octane unleaded fuels that are approved bythe FAA for the entire GA fleet. Lower octane fuels, including auto fuel, are options for part of theGA fleet and have been approved by the FAA.George looked to the past before discussing the future by revisiting something Mike Kraft ofLycoming said last year at AirVenture, and that was that we’ve got to stop loving this problem andstart fixing it. The problem in question is finding a suitable alternative fuel for aviation.The FAA, industry, and the members of the General Aviation Avgas Coalition continue efforts towork on a permanent solution to eventually replace 100 low-lead gasoline for GA aircraft that willmeet the needs of the existing fleet.ANDREW KNOTTAndrew Knott is an experienced pilot, flight instructor, andaircraft owner with substantial experience in startups, marketing,technology and aviation. Andrew was previously VP of Marketing forEADS Socata where amongst other things he was responsible for thelaunch of the TBM 850. Since “retiring” from Socata, Andrew has beenExecutive director of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association, theSocata TB User Group, Citation Jet Pilots, and has developed (andauthored) websites for all of these groups.As an expert in avionics, GPS, and auto-flight systems, Andrew hasgiven a significant number of seminars to owner/pilot groups. Previousaircraft he has owned include a 1973 RAM VI C340. He currentlyowns and flies a Socata Trinidad.Andrew lives in and flies out of the Spruce Creek Fly-in, in Daytona Beach FL.
