These graduateshave embedded themselves into the <strong>Ruston</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Music Records by earning titlesthroughout the school year. Many of these grown-up singers have competed and won recognitionat the State and National competitions as well as earning titles in the music field.These titles and achievements are listed in the table to the right.Ms. Martin, the 2010-<strong>2011</strong> Choir instructor, has also done a fantastic job organizingthe Choir this year. She has outdone herself by arranging the both state and national competitions,the Eurotrip, the Bruffy and Naranjo event, the Homecoming Rally performance,―Coffee, Cakes, & Carols‖, and the famous Bearcats on Broadway. Music MajorOn May 13, <strong>2011</strong>, several <strong>Ruston</strong> <strong>High</strong> band members journey to Texas to celebrate agreat year in band. They visited Medieval Times and the Galleria, where many spent theirtime out on the ice skating rink. Everyone enjoyed Six Flags, and as is the custom in theband, seniors were treated to their ―Last Supper‖ and then the seniors enjoyed fun andgames at the go-cart track..This year‘s trip was well deserved as the <strong>Ruston</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Band received numerousrecognitions and awards. At the District 1 Solo and Small Ensemble Festival, the Woodwindand Brass ensembles received superior ratings for their performance. Chaning Dorr,Sarah Campbell, Jacob Hashimoto, Anna Scroggins, Taylor Condie, and Garrett Millsreceived superiors. Elizabeth Eddy, Cody Briscoe, Joe Murphy, and Sebastian Pisciottareceived excellent ratings. In every competition, the band received superior ratingsthroughout the year and represented RHS proudly.
