Chancellor’s messageAt Herzing College, our mission is to providecareer-focused education in high-demandfields so students can come to school, geta solid general education, and at the sametime learn specialized, marketable skillswhile developing essential work habits. Ourhands-on coursework and combination ofacademic and real-world instruction aredesigned to provide those skills needed bystudents to be job-ready.We are not only career-focused in our educationalofferings, but we strive to servestudents in a caring and convenient manner.Our goal is to treat all students as individuals.Our staff and faculty understand thatstudents are our first priority- students areour reason for beingand we are determinedto make allreasonable efforts tohelp them succeed.For example, we tryto schedule classesduring the same timeof the day–mornings,afternoons or evenings.This makes itmuch easier for ourstudents to maintainjobs, have time withtheir families, and beinvolved in other activities. HistoryRich HistoryHerzing College began in Milwaukee, Wisconsinin February 1965 as a class of twelvestudents in a seven-month computer course.Over the past forty-five years, HerzingCollege has expanded geographically andprogrammatically under the same leadershipto encompass four campuses in Canada.In the US, Herzing University includes elevencampuses. Herzing College campuses offerdiploma programs in the fields of technology,business, healthcare, design, legal studiesand public safety.Reputation for SuccessHerzing College has become a significanteducational force in the markets it serves.With a foundation based on high ethical standards,our commitment to student serviceand the success of our graduates directlybenefit employers and the communities theyserve. Based on this principle, manyHerzing classes have two components: lecture/demonstrationand lab. Some labs willbe conducted in our state-of-the-industrycomputer, design or medical labs while otherswill be more situational in nature (suchas creating and implementing a businessstrategy). Either way, you’ll actually be performingthe same tasks that professionals inyour field perform, thereby gaining valuable,real-life experience. Many of our programsinclude an industry internship, where studentsgain experience and knowledge alongsideindustry professionals.3
