Reunion Weekend
Save the Weekend!
In October 2007, Dr. Nabil Bissada
hosted 45 graduates of the periodontic
program at a dinner celebrating the
program’s 100 graduates. One of the
night’s biggest surprises came when his
former residents and friends of the
program presented Dr. Bissada with
a check for $20,000, as well as a personal
gift of an etched glass vase acknowledging
him as their teacher and mentor.

Remember your years in dental school? It’s time to return to celebrate your reunion. You
can reconnect with your classmates, the faculty and staff at the Case Western Reserve
University School of Dental Medicine on May 16-18, 2008. Reunion Weekend is your
time to make new memories.
Plan your return to campus for three days of events including lectures, tours, dinners,
parties, and commencement—many events are free. Special reunions will also be celebrated.
We are highlighting classes with graduation years ending in 3 and 8. The Distinguished
Alumni Award will be presented to Marsha Pyle, D.D.S., M.Ed. ’84 and Ronald
Lemmo, D.D.S. ’84. Events occurring at the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, The Renaissance
Cleveland Hotel and at the University.

CELEBRATES 100 GRADUATES

The graduates and friends of the Department of
Periodontics presented Dr. Nabil Bissada with a
$20,000 check to the department.
Celebrate the Past, Embrace the Future
The gesture confirmed Dr. Bissada’s belief
in the quality of the program he has been
associated with for 35 years. “I was
humbled to receive these gifts,” he says.
“In this very tangible way, the students
are saying that they made the right decision
to come to Case Western Reserve. We have
taught a very diverse group of people. Yet
in spite of our differences, we have emerged
with a common love of learning and now,
teaching and leading others. This program
has produced graduates who have gone
on to positions of national and international
leadership in academia, clinical practice
and administration. Not many other
programs can make that claim. Events
like this one help give them a sense of
their ‘periodontic family’ that has been
formed here.” Dr. Bissada thanks all his
former residents for their generosity,
particularly Kathy Stetler, D.M.D.,
M.S.D. ’85, who organized the surprise
and gifts.
