There’s no better place than on the lakefront for the home of theCleveland Browns than where legendary Coach Paul Brown established Cleveland’s first football dynasty in the 1940s. No other site could have been asappropriate as the location where 16 Cleveland Browns – Jim Brown, Paul Brown, Joe DeLamielleure, Len Ford, Frank Gatski, Otto Graham, Lou Groza,Gene Hickerson, Leroy Kelly, Dante Lavelli, Mike McCormack, Bobby Mitchell, Marion Motley, Ozzie Newsome, Paul Warfield and Bill Willis – establishedtheir credentials for induction into the Professional Football Hall of Fame in Canton. In 2010, these Hall of Fame members were further honored by theunveiling of their names in the Ring of Honor, which recognizes their contributions to the Cleveland Browns organization. The names of these 16 greatsare now permanently displayed on the facade of the stadium’s upper deck. The rich history of the franchise was further spotlighted with the 2010 openingof Heritage Hall, located in BrownsTown.While the location of the Stadium honors the glorious history of athletic achievements in Cleveland, Cleveland Browns Stadium is a celebration of the city’srenaissance, drawing people to the lakefront every day. The crown jewel of the Northcoast Harbor, Cleveland Browns Stadium is located next to the Rockand Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Great Lakes Science Center. When visiting the Stadium, it is impossible to miss the distinctive architecturaldesign of the columns, beams and notches in the seating bowl. These spacious gaps allow visitors to get an inside perspective of the Stadium and fieldwhen the Browns are away and allow ticket holders to see the downtown skyline during the game. While on the south side of the Stadium, Browns fanscan catch a game and a bite to eat at The Gridiron Grille, and grab a personalized Browns jersey at the Team Shop.NOT JUST FOR BROWNS GAMESIn addition to Browns games, Cleveland Browns Stadium plays host to numerous other events. For the third straight year and sixth time since 2005, the HighSchool Charity Games will be staged at Cleveland Browns Stadium in <strong>2012</strong>. This year’s doubleheader will be played on August 25 and will feature North Royaltonagainst Brecksville-Broadview Heights, to be followed by defending Division III state champion Youngstown Cardinal Mooney taking on defending Division I statechampion St. Ignatius. College football has been a regular on the Cleveland Browns Stadium docket. On September 15 of this year, Morehouse College andWinston Salem State University will square off in the Second Annual Cleveland Classic HBCU football game. Since 2006, a college game will have been playedat the stadium each year except 2010. The stadium also has been the site for several international soccer matches, including two featuring the U.S. Women’sTeam (vs. China in 2007, vs. Germany in 2010).The stadium is not limited to athletic events. “The Brothers of the Sun Tour,” featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, performed at Cleveland BrownsStadium on July 29 of this year. The stadium also played host to Kenny Chesney concerts in 2007 and 2008, as well as The Three Tenors (2000), George Strait(2000) and N* Sync (2001).
