NPEs with 14 and 15 ethyleneoxide units are paste-like liquids. Viscosity increaseswith increasing ethylene oxide chainlength, and NPEs with 20 or more ethylene oxideunits are waxy solids. Colour varies fromcolourless to light amber. NPEs with highernumbers of ethylene oxide units are opaque.(CIR 1983).Purity: NP: 90% w/w. Impurities: 2-nonylphenol (5%w/w); 2,4-dinonylphenol (5% w/w) (EU-RAR1998).NPE: no data have been found.
