A draft report by theEnvironmental Agency has revealed thatplastic bags are generally less damagingto the climate than cotton ‘bags for life’and paper bags that are used as a lowimpact alternative. Single-use HDPE(high-density polyethylene) bags are, foreach use, almost 200 times lessdamaging to the climate than cottonhold-alls favoured by environmentalists,and have less than one third of the Co2emissions than paper bags which aregiven out by some retailers."RETAIL READY" PACKAGINGRetail ready packaging (RRP) potentiallyallows product to be transported safelyfrom manufacturer to retailer and then,with minimal modification, be used toadvertise and display the product to theconsumer.
