This year’s<br />
budget<br />
This year, from April <strong>2011</strong> to March 2012,<br />
we plan to have a net budget of £495.2m<br />
for providing <strong>council</strong> services. The tables<br />
and charts in this section show how this<br />
spend is analysed.<br />
Precepts and levies<br />
As well as delivering services directly,<br />
we contribute to London wide services<br />
provided by other organisations through<br />
a number of levies. In addition the<br />
<strong>council</strong> collects a precept on behalf of<br />
the Greater London Authority (GLA).<br />

<strong>Council</strong> Guide <strong>2011</strong> - 2012<br />
This precept helps to pay for the police,<br />
fire brigade and transport. It also<br />
includes the fourth contribution agreed<br />
with Government towards delivering<br />
a successful 2012 Olympic and<br />
Paralympics Games in London.<br />
