These interactions also help usgain visibility and provide a strategic advantage byparticipating in enriching discussions.SPJIMR Academic Conclave (SAC)Every year in the month of january, SPJIMR hosts theSPJIMR Academic Conclave (SAC) as a platform forfostering business-academia interaction targeted atthe corporate participants, academicians andstudents. SAC primarily features keynote addresses,panel discussions, seminars, symposia, case-studypresentations by the corporate participants, et al. Themost prominent, contemporary & relevant industryissues across different domains - Finance, Marketing,HR, Consulting, Information Management andOperations - are presented as themes in SAC over 2consecutive weekends. With world class academiciansfrom distinguished universities to eminent corporatepractitioners and huge industry participation, SAC2013 delivered a unique & enriching experience.Speakers this year included Sankarson Banerjee,Steven Melnyk, Mrs. Usha Thorat, Nikhilesh Dholakiaand Dr. David J. Clos.Advisory BoardOur Advisory board consists of renownedindustrialists and corporate honchos. They visit ourcampus regularly for batch interaction & are closelyinvolved with the participants and the program. Theacademic advisory council ensures that ourcurriculum is aligned with the industryrequirements.General ElectiveGeneral electives are offered by prominentbusiness practitioners and thinkers. The expertsdesign the course and use their unique ownapproach to instruct the participants. Varioustopics covered under the electives are SupplyChain Management, Game Theory, SocialEntrepreneurship, International Economics,Business analytics, Enterprise risk managementstrategy and Mergers & Acquisitions to name a few.MentoringA group of 4-5 participants with similar role and domainfocus is connected with a Mentor, who advises &assists them to obtain their career objective. TheMentors are senior alumni and industry experts. Thecrisp and focused meetings throughout the course ofprogram are invaluable to the participants in the everchanging business environment.
