“<strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Krishna</strong>” Sponsors<br />
In order to encourage <strong>and</strong> motivate the students <strong>of</strong> all the B-Schools in<br />
Coimbatore, our School <strong>of</strong> Management (SoM) with the Coimbatore<br />
Mangement Association (CMA) has come forward to sponsor a trophy, a cash<br />
award <strong>of</strong> Rs. 5000/- <strong>and</strong> a certificate to the Best MBA Project in Coimbatore<br />
Region. The first award for the year 2004 was given to Ms. Deepa Venugopal<br />
<strong>of</strong> Guruvayurappan Institute <strong>of</strong> Management at a function at Hotel Annalakshmi<br />
on 13 September 2005.<br />

VETHATHRI MAHARSHI<br />
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS<br />
Our Principal, Dr. S. Subramanian presided Vethathri Maharshi Birthday<br />
Celebrations organized by World Community Service Centre, Aliyar at<br />
Lakshmi Complex, Coimbatore on 19 August 2005. Perur<br />
Marudachalam Adigalar spoke about “Amaithiyai Nokki” (towards peace)<br />
during the function.<br />
Techsem 2005, the Annual State Level Technical Symposium was conducted<br />
during 24-25 August 2005. A total <strong>of</strong> 410 papers were received from students<br />
<strong>of</strong> all branches from most <strong>of</strong> the Tamilnadu <strong>Engineering</strong> <strong>College</strong>s. 220 papers<br />
were presented during the symposium. About 500 students participated in various<br />
events like paper presentation, technical quiz, design competition, debugging etc.<br />
Mr N Shiv Shankar, Associate Vice President <strong>and</strong> Head, Development Centre, Infosys Tech. Ltd., Chennai was the Chief Guest<br />
for inauguration. In his speech, he stressed on the quality life, quality products <strong>and</strong> quality delivery <strong>of</strong> products <strong>and</strong> spoke on<br />
becoming successful engineers <strong>and</strong> technologists.<br />
Valediction function was held on 25 August 2005 evening <strong>and</strong> Mr A K Pattabiraman, Consultant, Tata Consultancy Services,<br />
Chennai was the Chief Guest. He spoke on how to be successful in interviews <strong>and</strong> in the work place. Dr S Subramanian,<br />
our Principal presided over both the functions.<br />
Engineers’ Day was celebrated with all vigour <strong>and</strong> zeal on 15 September<br />
2005. Mr. A.V. Varadha-rajan, MD, S<strong>and</strong>fits (India), Coimbatore was the Chief<br />
Guest. He spoke on the various aspects <strong>of</strong> self employment <strong>and</strong><br />
entrepreneurship. He quoted his own life as an example.<br />
A mini-project exhibition has been organized this year. Students from<br />
Mechanical, EEE, ECE, MCT <strong>and</strong> CSE departments participated <strong>and</strong> designed,<br />
fabricated <strong>and</strong> demonstrated their ability by exhibiting models. Best miniproject<br />
was selected in each department. 277 students participated in the<br />
mini-project exhibition. A Mathematics Exhibition with more than 150 models<br />
including puzzles <strong>and</strong> games was organised on the same day.
