273-304 hpc 9/26/06 7:41 AM Page 291MINOR PRO AFFILIATESThe Fresno Falcons will be San Jose’s secondary affiliate for the fourth consecutive season.Last season, six players played with both Fresno and with San Jose’s top American HockeyLeague development affiliate, highlighted by goaltender Jamie Holden, who was 20-7-5 in 32 gameswith the Falcons. Other players who saw time in Fresno and the AHL last year were MatthewDeschamps, Ray DiLauro, Chris Heid, Cory Murphy and Glenn Olson.In addition, goaltender Nolan Schaefer, who played for the Falcons during the 2003-04 season,made his NHL debut last season with the Sharks, posting a 5-1-0 record and a 1.87 goals-againstaverage in seven appearances.“Being part of a developmental league, it’s important to be associated with a first-rate NHL organizationsuch as the San Jose Sharks,” Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomassaid. “Obviously, the success they’ve had in recent seasons is a tribute to the way they do thingsand we are excited to be able to continue our affiliation with them this season.”“The Sharks are very pleased to continue our affiliation with the Falcons,” San Jose VicePresident and Assistant General Manager Wayne Thomas said. “It’s been a pleasure workingtogether for the last three years and to be able to work with a winning organization is a great plus.We are fortunate to be able to work with Matt Thomas.
