7.15 GRASS AREA – CUHAn Chomhairle approved the report of the Assistant City Manager, dated 1stFebruary, 2007, on the following motion which was referred to the Committee byAn Chomhairle.‘That Cork City Council would reinstate the grass area to left of Cork UniversityHospital unfinished following the Green route expansion.’(Proposer: Cllr. J. Buttimer 07/013)The report of the Assistant City Manager stated that the green area adjacent to thenew slip road outside Cork University Hospital was excavated by the GasCompany before the grass area could be fully reinstated. However, the contractorfor the Green Route has been instructed to carry out the permanent restoration ofthis green area as soon as possible. Work cannot be carried out over the Wintermonths due to inclement weather conditions and it is programmed to be carriedout in early Spring.7.16 CLOSE OFF ALLEYWAY BETWEEN KNOCKPOGUE AVENUE ANDFAIRFIELD CRESCENTAn Chomhairle approved the report of the Assistant City Manager, dated 1stFebruary, 2007, on the following motion which was referred to the Committee byAn Chomhairle.‘That Cork City Council would close off the alleyway between KnockpogueAvenue and Fairfield Crescent and also the alleyway between Baker’s Road andPresentation Road.’(Proposer: Cllr. M O’Connell 06/537)The report of the Assistant City Manager stated that the 2007 programme for theClosure of Pedestrian Laneways was discussed and agreed at a meeting of theWard Members on Monday 29th January 2007. Alleyways at KnockpogueAvenue/Fairfield Crescent and Baker’s Road /Presentation Road were notprioritized as part of the 2007 programme of works.
