33 DRAFT PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION MERTHYR TYDFIL ORIENTATION STRATEGY The procurement process Companies tendering for the work are asked to provide the following services: 1. Developing the detailed specification of the signage system by working with the client to agree specific materials, connection details and produce a full size prototype, insitu for approval and site testing. At the end of this stage locations and number of signs, and phases will be agreed. 2. Production of the signage system 3. Installation of the new signage and all making good 4. Production of a 'Users Manual' of components of the signage system to be held by the client so that future items may be ordered and manufactured as required. 5. Maintenance contract Criteria for selection The criteria for selection is based on the following issues ■ Previous high quality work of a similar nature ■ Commitment to innovation and new techniques. ■ Flexibility of approach and experience of working as part of a team ■ Price ■ Ability to achieve deadlines ■ Knowledge of current best practice The council does not agree to accept the lowest or any tender
34 DRAFT PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION MERTHYR TYDFIL ORIENTATION STRATEGY The signage system must conform to all relevant codes of practice, British Standards and signage regulations issued by the DETR, along with all relevant disability access criteria. The copyright of the signage system and its creative and intellectual content is the property of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. It has been designed specifically for the town and it is not to be reproduced by others elsewhere unless a specific license is granted.
