BEKAPROTECTALINEAPPLICATIONS• Battery rooms• LPG gas storage areas• Petrochemical plants• Grain & coal silos• Spray booths• Coal rail tippers• Paint storerooms• Gas plantsKEY ADVANTAGES• Robust GRP corrosion-protected housing• Single-key secure opening and closing mechanism• External mounting facility• Hinged polycarbonate diffuser• Electronic ballast with short circuit and overload protection• Classified for Exe Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 areas• Available with emergency control gear• Ingress protection - IP 66CONFORMITY TO STANDARDS• IEC 60079-0:2004, IEC 60079-1:2003, IEC 60079-5:1997,IEC 60079-7:2001, IEC 61421-0:2004, IEC 61421-1:2004CONSTRUCTION DETAILSAll outer and inner fixing points of the housing are with brassferal inserts which are moulded into the housing duringmanufacture, ensuring the secure fixing of all internalcomponents and external mounting of the luminaire.The hinged powder-coated reflector facilitates access to thetermination points and control gear.The luminaire is fitted with a safety switch which cuts thesupply to the control gear when the diffuser is opened.A through-wiring facility is provided with internal wiring inplace.Sealing of the housing and the diffuser is achieved by atongue-and-groove configuration with a closed cell silicongasket.SABS MARKSThe luminaire bears the SANS 475 performance mark and theSANS 60598-2-1 safety mark.INGRESS PROTECTIONThe luminaire has a degree of protection that complies with SANS60079-0, SANS 60079-1, SANS 60079-5, SANS 60079-7.Ex edq IIC T4.HOUSING• The housing is manufactured from reinforced GRP withcorrosion protection and to withstand 7 Joules impact (IK 08).• The control gear, termination blocks and the BZX-6explosion-proof safety switch are mounted into the housing.• Two 20mm entries are provided at the end of the housing ofwhich one is sealed.• The closed cell silicon gasket is moulded into the tongue-andgroove configuration.• A multi-point ratchet locking device ensures the integrity ofthe IP rating.DIFFUSER• The diffuser is manufactured from high impact polycarbonatematerial, which can withstand 7 Joules impact (IK 08).• The diffuser can only be opened with the use of a special keyprovided with each fitting.• The internal optical prisms ensure a high light transmission of90%.• Two hinges keep the diffuser attached to the luminaire whenopened, for ease of lamp replacement.CONTROL GEAR AND COMPONENTS• The Zone 1 classified electronic ballast is suitable for T8 36WG11 bi-pin fluorescent tubes.• The luminaire is available with emergency control gear for onelamp for a duration of 90 minutes, with a recharge durationof 24 hours.• The double-contact slide G11 bi-pin holder with locking leverensures that the lamps cannot dislodge from the lamp holder.• The electronic control gear is suitable for operation with thespecified lamps on a 100V to 250V at 50/60Hz, single phasesupply.• All control gear components are removable.• The luminaire is power factor corrected to a minimum of 0,95.
