Luminaire spigot entriescomply with SANS 1088 - Table 2.Side entry - ø42mm x 125mm long.Bottom entry - ø76mm x 75mmdeep.INGRESS PROTECTIONThe luminaire has a degree ofprotection that complies with SANS60598-2-3.Lamp compartment: IP65Control gear compartment: IP43The IP rating is certified by a SABStest report.LAMP COMPARTMENT• The housing is robustlyconstructed, weatherproof,hailproof, corrosion proof andvandal resistant.• It is manufactured from filledultra-violet stabilised engineeringpolymer and is grey in colour.• The non-discolouring high-impactacrylic diffuser bowl has noexternal prisms and is held to thehousing by three stainless steelclips. It remains attached to thehousing when hinged open.• The gasket sealing the lampcompartment is made of siliconsponge rubber and is fitted into atongue and groove arrangement.• Reflectors are manufactured from99,98% super pure deepanodised aluminium and are notsubject to accidental misalignment.• The lampholder complies withVC 8011, is rated to withstand240˚C and prevents loosening ofthe lamp caused by vibrations.CONTROL GEARCOMPARTMENT• The control gear compartmentis protected by a hingednon-corrosive cover and isaccessible from underneath.• Access to the control gearcompartment is gained byloosening one captive stainlesssteel screw (nylon in the doubleinsulated version).• The control gear is mounted on aremovable gear tray and issuitable for operation with thespecified rating of the lamp on a230V +3%/-10% 50Hz singlephase system.• All control gear components areremovable and bear the relevantSABS mark. All internal wiring isTeflon ® coated with protectivesleeving to prevent damage bypossible abrasion. All screws,bolts and metal parts are stainlesssteel or non-corrosive material.• Mains connections are by meansof a suitable screw terminal blockwith a wire clamping contact.• Ignitors, where applicable, are ofthe superposed pulse type.• The luminaire is power factorcorrected to a minimum of 0,9.
