A die castaluminium cover, secured with onesubstantial, reliable latch to theluminaire housing, hinges on astainless steel spring and protectsthe incorporated components in anIP66 rated enclosure. A tongueand-groovedesigned gasket systemprovides a reliable seal.The luminaire is designed tooperate high pressure sodium ormetal halide lamps up to 400W.SABS MARKSThe luminaire bears the SANS 475performance mark and the SANS60598-2-3 safety mark.INGRESS PROTECTIONThe luminaire has a degree ofprotection that complies withSANS 60598-2-3.Lamp compartment: IP66Gear compartment: IP66The IP rating is certified by SABStest reports.HOUSING• The body is manufactured fromhigh quality die cast aluminium,manufactured of corrosionresistantLM6 alloy, to which ahigh impact-resistant glassprotector is sealed.• The spigot entry mounting isincorporated into the body andallows for either side or bottomentry mounting.• A silicon sponge gasket is fittedinto a special groove in the cover.This, in conjunction with theextruded aluminium closing leverprovided on the cover, ensures areliable IP66 rating.• Side entry: ø42mm x 125mmBottom entry: ø76mm x 100mmOPTICAL COMPARTMENT• The optical compartment consistsof a polished and anodizedaluminium reflector and curvedglass protector.• The optical compartment of theBEKAVIA-SUPRA is equipped witha one-piece Sealsafe® reflector,which ensures the long-term IP66rating of the lamp compartment.• The protector glass is impactresistancerated to IK08.ELECTRICAL CONNECTION• The electrical connection is madeoutside the protected gearcompartment, therefore ensuringthe IP66 integrity of the gearcompartment.CONTROL GEARCOMPARTMENT• The magnetic ballast is suitable foroperation with the specified lampson a 230V +3%/-10% at 50Hz,single phase supply.• The control gear bears the relevantSABS mark.• Mains connections are by meansof a suitable screw terminal blockwith a wire clamping contact.• The luminaire is power factorcorrected to a minimum of 0,9.
