FLOOR GULLIESInstallation Guidelines1. Where applicable, screw spigot adaptor intothe body outlet using a suitable sealant toensure the joint is watertight.Finished floor level6. Where applicable, dress the membraneover the flange and into the sump of thebody, ensuring that the membrane doesnot restrict the outlet; bolt the membraneclamping collar to the body - certain collarsare reversible to increase height adjustability.Note 1: If a G series body is being usedwithout a membrane, ensure that membraneclamping collar securing holes on top face ofbody are sealed.Note 2: In some cases the membraneclamping collar serves to connect the gratingor cover to the body, so it must be fitted evenwhere a membrane is not used.2. Measure the distance between the topof the connecting pipework and finishedfloor level.3. Check that this distance will enable thecomplete gully (with extensions, if applicable)to be installed with the top face of thegrating or cover flush and level with the finishedfloor.Note: Where a damp-proof membrane isused, the body must be installed with thetop of the flange at or below membranelevel.7. Fit grating, cover, or funnel, withextensions,frame or collar as applicable;set top face flush and level with thefinished floor using height adjustabilityfeatures. Use a suitable sealant on allthreaded joints to ensure a watertightassembly.MembraneLevel4. Connect body (with spigot adaptor if applicable)to pipework.5. Infill as required.8. Infill or lay floor screed and apply final floorfinish (e.g. tiles, marble, paviors, terrazzo)around the grating or cover.Note: Installation of gratings and covers foruse with sheet floor covering, such as vinyl, isincluded in a separate brochure.4

FLOOR GULLIESSide InletsFor typical installation illustrations, see pages 5 and 25.Side inlets in a gully permit the underfloor connection of pipes fromfixtures such as sinks and wash basins, from drainage channels andfrom other gullies.Side inlets in Wade trapped gullies are located completely abovethe water level, except in G102, H102 and GD Series where theinlets are partially below the water level.The illustrations represent typical gully bodies, VIEWED FROMABOVE, and show the SPEC. ROOF OUTLETSInstallation GuidelinesThe design of the layout of roof outlets should be in accordance with the recommendations given in BS EN 12056:3Wade offers a range of roof outlets with versions for use with different types of roof construction (warm, cold, inverted, nofines screed) for installation in different types of deck (concrete, metal, wood) with different types of waterproofingmembrane (mastic asphalt, built-up felt roofing, single ply), as shown on following pages.Cast iron bodies are available with medium sump (3400 series) or deep sump (3100 series) with choice of outlet size andconnection type, with polycarbonate dome or sherardized cast or ductile iron flat grating.Bodies with spigot outlet are for direct connection to pipework; versions with threaded outlet are for connection topipework by means of a spigot adaptor. Roof outlets should be placed at the roof low points to allow efficient flow of waterto the outlets.Note :For versions with bonded insulation jacket add suffix K to the Spec. Code.For versions with integral PVC flange for use with PVC single ply membranes add suffix Z to the Spec. Code.1. LINEAR DRAINAGEInstallation Guidelines1. Remove any gratings and clamping frames fromchannel.2. Taking care not to twist, turn the channel upsidedown (base uppermost).3. If there is more than one section to the channel,apply silicone sealant to jointing flange faces or fitrubber gaskets if supplied, and securely boltsections together.4. If connecting to a Wade gully, follow the instructionssupplied.8. lf not supplied, provide and insert spacer barsacross channel at approx. 500mm centres. Spacerbars prevent channel being squeezed while backfillis being compacted and must not be removed untilbackfill is set.9. Fix the channel into position by first grouting buildinties and any adjustment legs firmly in place.10. Taking care not to damage show surfaces, placeheavy weights on top of the channel prior topouring backfill to prevent any lift or movement.11. Backfill around the channel ensuring that backfillmaterial flows evenly under and around thechannel such that no voids are formed.5. Taking care not to twist, turn the channel the correctway up and lower it into the trench and into anyinstalled gullies: ensure top edge of channel is flushwith finished floor level, use the adjustment legswhen supplied.6. Bend the build-in ties as necessary.7. Make the pipework joints below the channelNote :After positioning the channel it is recommended thata water test be undertaken to check that height iscorrect, that, where applicable the fall in the channelworks effectively, that there are no leakages from thechannel system and that there are no signs ofdeformation or damage to the channel which mayhave occured during installation. At this stage it maystill be possible for any necessary rectification workto take place.Please consult our Technical Services Dept. if thissituation arises.12. Remove immediately any material which falls intothe channel.13. When backfill is set, remove spacer bars.14. Fit gratings.15. Clean channels and gratings with water and asuitable cleaning agent where necessary. Under nocircumstances use metal scouring pads or wire woolas these will contaminate surfaces.40

The gap between the outside edge of the channeland the angle frame is covered with an adhesivetape to prevent debris filling up the gap duringinstallation.
