Of these, fourare sacred, according to the ever-true law [of God].Therefore, do not wrong yourselves by violatingthem. But fight against the idolaters all together asthey fight against you all together, and know thatGod is with those who are God- fearing. They declare it permissible one year andforbidden another year, so that they may make upthe number of the months which God hassanctified, and thus they make lawful what Godhas forbidden. The evil of their deeds thus seemsfair to them. God does not guide those who areunbelievers.
