SANTA CLARA/SANTA CRUZ/MONTEREY COUNTIES | WINE COUNTRY THIS WEEKVintners’ Festival Celebrates 23 Years, June 2-3The Santa Cruz Mountain <strong>Wine</strong>growers <strong>As</strong>sociation announced the23nd Annual Vintners’ Festival, “A Taste of the Mountains,” will takeplace on two consecutive weekends. The first weekend, June 2 and 3,the festival will be hosted at wineries and restaurants in Santa Claraand San Mateo counties. The second weekend, June 9 and 10, thefestival will be hosted at wineries and restaurants in Santa CruzCounty. <strong>Wine</strong>ries participating in the Vintners’ Festival will be pouringfrom 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with restaurant locations closing at 4 p.m.The Vintners’ Festival is an opportunity for restaurants andwineries to pair together for the ultimate experience. Many winerieswill be pouring their wines at local restaurants for the festival as wellas at their own winery locations.The Vintners’ Festival offers participants a self-guided tour inwhich they may take part in barrel tasting, meet winemakers andenjoy music, art and good food. Visitors are also invited to wanderthrough many of the winery gardens and to bring picnics to enjoy inpicturesque surroundings.Tickets and the official brochure listing participating wineriesalong with a map to help you find the locations are available bycalling the Santa Cruz Mountains <strong>Wine</strong>growers <strong>As</strong>sociation at(831) 685-VINE (8463). You may also purchase yourcommemorative wine glass, which serves as your ticket to taste,at any participating location during the festival.Santa Lucia Highlands GalaJoin the vintners of the Santa Lucia Highlands for this sixthannual, exclusive tasting on Saturday, May 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.Sample limited release gems and hard-to-get vintages, oftenpoured by the winemakers themselves, along with great foodand music. Tickets are $85 per person.The setting will be beautiful Mer Soleil <strong>Wine</strong>ry, notnormally open to the public.
