EnrollmentPayment of FeesNote: Fees charged by <strong>Ryerson</strong> are approved annually by the Board ofGovernors for an academic year. <strong>Ryerson</strong> reserves the right to makechanges in both the fees and the procedures without prior notice.All fees must be paid in full at time of enrollment. Any studentswith outstanding fees will be required to clear their debt before anyfurther enrollments are processed.Students are academically and financially responsible for allenrolled courses and fees incurred unless they formally withdraw inwriting or online via RAMSS by the appropriate <strong>University</strong> deadlinedates (whether or not they attend a class).Fees are payable to <strong>Ryerson</strong> <strong>University</strong> by money order, cheque,Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit card, or online banking.Cash payments are accepted for in-person enrollments. Do notsend cash through the mail. Duplicate payment receipts for mail-inenrollments will not be mailed to the student. Duplicate paymentreceipts for employee reimbursement are available online by selecting“My Account Summary” in RAMSS at my.ryerson.ca.Online tuition fee payment is now available through many banks.Pay your tuition fees online with the following banks:• Bank of Montreal• CIBC• HSBC• National Bank• President’s Choice Bank• Royal Bank• Scotiabank• TD/Canada TrustSelect “<strong>Ryerson</strong> <strong>University</strong> – Tuition & ResFees” as the payee; yournine-digit student identification number is your account number.To avoid late payment charges, allow three business days for yourpayment to be processed.Please note that postdated cheques are not accepted. When enrollingby any method, if you offer payment by cheque or use a Visa, MasterCard,or American Express credit card that is subsequently not honoured bythe financial institution, you will be charged a $50 fee by the EnrollmentServices and Student Fees office. Payment for outstanding fees plusthe $50 must be made by certified cheque or money order, payable to<strong>Ryerson</strong> <strong>University</strong>.Income tax receipts totalling more than $100 are deductible personalincome tax credits.Late Fee Service Charges<strong>The</strong>re is a late fee service charge of 1.25% per month (16.08% effectiveannual rate) assessed on any unpaid balance in a student’s account.Exceptions may be made for medical or compassionate reasons withsupporting documentation. Appeals must be made in writing tothe Enrollment Services and Student Fees office, POD64. Phone416.979.5136 for more information.RefundsTo be eligible for a tuition fee refund, students must officially notifyEnrollment Services and Student Fees, in writing, of their intentionto withdraw. Official withdrawals are accepted in the following ways:• in person at Enrollment Services and Student Fees• online at my.ryerson.ca• by fax at 416.979.5236• by mail, postmarked by the appropriate deadlineNonattendance of a course is not considered an official withdrawal. SeeWithdrawals for more information.Note: Students who are registered in a part-time degree programmust refer to the Undergraduate Part-Time Degree Calendar for therefund policy.Refund DeadlinesFor the complete list of refund deadlines, see Important Dates.Exceptions to Refund PolicySome seminars/workshops publish specific refund policies thatsupersede the above. Please contact the Enrollment Services andStudent Fees office at 416.979.5136 for more information.Material FeesSome course fees consist of a tuition portion and a material portion.Individual course descriptions specify if their fees include a materialcomponent. For these courses, the material fee is refunded only toregistrants who officially withdraw five business days prior to the firstscheduled class (see Full Refund at Important Dates). After this time,the material fee is non-refundable.Receipt of RefundsIf a student withdraws/drops a course online, by mail, or in person,according to <strong>Ryerson</strong>’s official deadline dates, any applicable refundwill be automatically processed within 30 days. Refunds are mailedor credited to the student’s credit card. Please note that credits to yourcredit account may take up to 45 days to appear on your statement.We regret that we cannot accept a telephone call or notification to aninstructor as withdrawal or eligibility for a refund.Refunds for cancelled courses will be processed automatically and arefund cheque mailed (or a credit issued to your credit card) within 30days.
